  • Patent number: 4125874
Abstract: A system for remotely controlling the printing of data supplied by a central processing unit at a plurality of printers is disclosed having a central processing unit for addressing which printers are to print the data and for transmitting the data to be printed over a transmission channel to the printers, each printer having an address matcher to check if it is the printer being addressed and a latching circuit for conditioning the printer to receive and print data if it is one of the printers which is addressed. This circuit allows a plurality of printers to be addressed and requires only one transmission by the central processing unit of the data to the printers.

  • Patent number: 4019172
Abstract: A system is disclosed having a central processor for supervising and controlling a plurality of remote stations over a transmission channel wherein the central processor comprises a microprocessor and a 16-bit generating system for supplying in a single word to the microprocessor the data which is received from remote stations, a busy signal indicating that the system in the central processor is busy transmitting data, an error signal indicating that there was an error in transmission from the remote stations, and a no response signal indicating whether or not the remote station, which was addressed by the central processor, transmitted to the central processor a response within a predetermined amount of time.
