  • Patent number: 8185743
Abstract: Methods and systems for locking an application are described. A method includes receiving, over a communication network from a remote applicant, a signature for an application. The signature includes a date and time, an indication of agreement to the terms of the application, and verification information personal to the applicant and capable of confirming the applicant's identity. Based on the application and signature an internal checksum can be generated. The internal checksum is sent to a third party for generation of a second, external checksum. The external checksum is based on the internal checksum and the date and time the external checksum was generated. The internal and external checksums are associated with the application and then stored along with the application and signature.
