Abstract: A system for controlling information relating to a vehicle (10), including information relating to criteria the vehicle must meet according the regulations in force, in which a chip card may be read by any authorised person (14) in order to control static and/or dynamic information relating to the vehicle using a data input device. The chip card is a contactless chip card (12) permanently arranged inside the vehicle and the data input device (16) includes a contactless card reader for remotely reading information stored in the card and a display screen on which input information is displayed.

Abstract: A system for filling in and delivering offence tickets which includes a portable input device (12) provided to a police officer (10), an offence ticket which is a tamper-resistant, contact-free smart card (14) adapted to be presented in front of the input device so as to record data concerning the vehicle, clipping means for the police officer to clip the ticket on the wind screen wiper arm so that the ticket remains undamaged by rain and cannot be easily removed after it has been clipped, a consultation device (18) enabling the owner to take cognizance and print out data concerning the offence, a processing center (22) containing data concerning all running vehicles, and microwave link access means (22) enabling the police officer to obtain data concerning the offending vehicle from the processing center.

Abstract: The invention concerns a system for issuing and managing offence tickets comprising a portable input device provided to the policeman for recording therein data concerning the contravening vehicle, a ticket medium to be issued to the vehicle owner and adapted to be inserted in the input device for recording therein input data from the input device, and an accession device provided with a display screen and means for inserting the tickets medium to enable the vehicle owner to access data concerning the offence displayed on the screen. The ticket medium consists of an unalterable tamper-resistant smart card and clipping means enabling the policeman to clip the card on the wiper arm, such that the card is not damaged by rain and cannot be easily removed after it has been clipped.
