Publication number: 20200043572Abstract: Systems and methods are used to provide an aggregated genomic information database and compensate contributors. Genomic data and contributor data are received from a contributor client device and stored in an electronic database using a server computer. A linkage between the genomic data and other genomic data stored in the electronic database is determined and the linkage is stored in the electronic database using the server computer. A request for the genomic data from a user client device is received, the genomic data and the linkage are retrieved from the electronic database, and the genomic data and the linkage are sent to the user client device using the server computer. A compensation amount value for the genomic data is calculated and sent to the contributor client device using the server computer.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 19, 2019Publication date: February 6, 2020Inventor: Paul Grossman

Publication number: 20160207600Abstract: A marine vessel is propelled through water using a hydro-compress gas powered engine including a chamber having a hydropower motor in an upper section and a compressed gas motor in a lower section. In a first cycle of the engine water is introduced into the hydropower motor that driving a drives a crankshaft using the kinetic energy of falling water. Concurrently a portion of a compressed gas stored in a tank is introduced into the compressed gas motor. The compressed gas is stored in a tank at a predetermined potential energy much greater than the kinetic energy of the falling water. A portion of the compressed gas introduced into the compressed gas motor has an amount of potential energy greater than the kinetic energy of the falling water. Compressed gas pushes water from the compressed gas motor the equal in mass to a predetermined mass of water in a gas-water lock.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 4, 2016Publication date: July 21, 2016Inventor: Kurt Paul Grossman

Patent number: 8981582Abstract: A submerged power generator comprises a hull that defines an air space. A weighted container is allowed to fall within the air space during a power generating stroke. The container interacts with an apparatus so as to drive a generator during the power stroke. After the power stroke the container is ejected from the hull into the surrounding body of water. The container is made buoyant and thus floats upwardly during a buoyant stroke. The buoyant container is retrieved as it approaches the top of the hull and reintroduced into the hull for another power generating cycle.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 2010Date of Patent: March 17, 2015Inventor: Kurt Paul Grossman

Publication number: 20050112608Abstract: Method and composition for detecting one or more selected polynucleotide regions in a target polynucleotide. In one embodiment of the invention, a plurality of different-sequence probe pairs are added to a target polynucleotide, where each probe pair includes two polynucleotide probe elements which are complementary in sequence to adjacent portions of a selected one of the target sequences in the target polynucleotide. In each probe pair, one of the probe elements contains a non-polynucleotide polymer chain which imparts a distinctive mobility to the associated probe pair, when the elements in the pair are ligated. The other element in the pair contains a detectable reporter label. After the probe pairs have been allowed to hybridize with the target polynucleotide, the hybridized polynucleotides are treated under conditions effective to ligate the end subunits of target-bound probe elements when their end subunits are base-paired with adjacent target bases.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 14, 2004Publication date: May 26, 2005Inventors: Paul Grossman, Steven Fung, Steven Menchen, Sam Woo, Emily Winn-Deen

Publication number: 20050112609Abstract: Method and composition for detecting one or more selected polynucleotide regions in a target polynucleotide. In the method, a mixture of sequence-specific probes are reacted with the target polynucleotide under hybridization conditions, and the hybridized probes are treated to selectively modify those probes which are bound to the target polynucleotide in a base-specific manner. The resulting labeled probes include a polymer chain which imparts to each different-sequence probe, a distinctive ratio of charge/translational frictional drag, and a detectable label. The labeled probes are fractionated by electrophoresis in a non-sieving matrix, and the presence of one or more selected sequences in the target polynucleotide are detected according to the observed electrophoretic migration rates of the labeled probes in a non-sieving medium.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 14, 2004Publication date: May 26, 2005Inventors: Paul Grossman, Steven Fung, Steven Menchen, Sam Woo, Emily Winn-Deen
