  • Patent number: 4193389
Abstract: In a preferred embodiment, an umbrella has a reflective concave face serving a radiant energy collector when the umbrella is invertedly mounted, and a clamp clamps onto the umbrellas shaft a vessel containing water partially filling the same, the vessel being of narrow thickness and being supported at a point of converging reflected rays of energy, the vessel having upper steam space connected to a heating-vessel for heating typically a cup of coffee by heat-exchange with the coffee cup, and having a drain conduit for draining condensed steam back to the liquid-containing vessel, a steam conduit channeling steam through a liquid trap for removing water droplets carried by the steam, and the umbrella when upright serving as typically a beach umbrella which shifts with the wind by virtue of the shaft being off-set from the center.

  • Patent number: 4129994
Abstract: In a preferred embodiment, a thermostatically-controlled variable air-circulation mechanism and a thermostatically-controlled coolant-pump circulatable of coolant from a coolant vessel to the fan-containing cooling-coils air-space enclosure cyclically, and a coolant vessel-thermostat and freezing coils connected with an electrical freezer mechanism, are powered by dual batteries in electrical parallel when in use, and the freezer mechanism by solely one thereof when ignition is off for an automobile by virtue of solenoid switch, the fans being run in electrical series at predetermined lower temperatures and in parallel at predetermined higher temperatures by virtue of circuitry and thermostatically-controlled other solenoid switches, maximum ice-production being controlled thermostatically.

  • Patent number: 3961496
Abstract: In a preferred embodiment, a mateable upper and lower vessel having upper and lower compartments substantially isolated from one-another, of insulation light-weight material self-supporting, containable of water and ice in the lower compartment and having mounted fans adjacent upper ports of the upper compartment and therebeneath water-circulation conduits and heat-transfer fins with a connected pump mounted also within the upper compartment and circulatable of water from the lower compartment through the water-circulation conduits and heat-transfer fins which are located above air intake ports at a lower location within side walls of the upper compartment structure, with separate variable controls of speed for the separate fans, and with thermostat and manual activation switches in parallel with one-another both in electrical series with a variable speed control of the motor of the pump.
