  • Publication number: 20110227694
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device (100) and method for interfacing a signal transmission/reception device (200) and a catheter (300). A signal transmitted by the signal transmission/reception device (200) and supplied to the device (100) via a first interface (102, 104, 106, 108) can be sensed by a first sensor (114). The sensed signal may be adjusted by an adjustment unit (116). The adjusted signal can be output via a second interface (110, 112) and supplied to the catheter (300). In this way, a resistance loss caused by a conductor (302, 304) of the catheter (300) may be compensated for.

  • Publication number: 20080230715
Abstract: An optical imaging apparatus (100) for examination of an object of interest (101), the optical imaging apparatus (100) comprising an optical radiation source (102) adapted to emit a primary optical radiation beam onto the object of interest (101), an optical radiation detector (106) adapted to detect a secondary optical radiation beam emitted by the object of interest (101) upon absorbing the primary optical radiation beam, a magnetic field generating element (107) adapted to generate an inhomogeneous magnetic field varying along an extension of the object of interest (101), and a determination unit (108) adapted to determine information concerning the object of interest (101) based on an analysis of the detected secondary optical radiation beam in combination with an analysis of the inhomogeneous magnetic field.

  • Publication number: 20080077002
Abstract: The present invention relates to novel methods and compounds for combined opticalultrasound imaging. The compounds of the present invention relate to particles comprising fluorescence donor and acceptor molecules for energy exchange via FRET. The methods of the present invention use ultrasound to modify the distance between donor and acceptor molecules present on the particles, and to consequently modify the fluorescence emitted by the donor and acceptor. The compounds and methods of the present invention are useful in medical or diagnostic imaging.

  • Patent number: 4630296
Abstract: A method of generating layer images from a number of single-shadow images and a device for performing this method. The absorption values associated with the image points of the single-shadow images are stored in a memory. The image value of the layer-image point is formed from the lowest absorption values associated with this layer-image point. Structures or artefacts which are situated outside the layer being imaged can thus be eliminated from the image.
