Publication number: 20050210872Abstract: The control of the pressure supply to a piston-cylinder unit (10) is effected by monitoring the pressure in the corresponding line (16) through a pressure sensor (22). This pressure is measured in fixed time intervals and the changes in pressure are determined. When the change in pressure has become zero, it is detected that the set terminal pressure has been reached so that the working operation is ended. A switching to the return stroke is effected when the pressure increase in at least one time interval is greater than in at least one of the previous intervals of the working operation. The control is independent from the type of piston-cylinder unit employed and requires no sensors at the piston-cylinder unit.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 8, 2003Publication date: September 29, 2005Inventor: Paul-Heinz Wagner

Publication number: 20040177704Abstract: In the method for controlling an intermittent screw process first a torque mode (DMM) is applied in which the torque is continuously measured. Upon attainment of a pre-torque (MF) a rotation angle mode (DWM) is carried out in which the rotation angle is measured. Proceeding from the rotation angle &agr;=0 (corresponding to the pre-torque (MF)) the rotation angle (&agr;) is counted up during each stroke. In this connection that torque (MHE) is stored which has been reached at the end of the stroke. During the next stroke the angle (&agr;) is continued to be counted only when the torque (MHE) at the stroke end of the previous stroke has been reached again. Upon attainment of a target angle (&agr;z) the screw process is terminated.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 2, 2004Publication date: September 16, 2004Inventors: Paul-Heinz Wagner, Ulf Sittig

Patent number: 5495782Abstract: The power wrench comprises a housing (10) consisting of a head portion (11) and a drive portion (12). The drive portion (12) contains a cylinder sleeve (21) which is introduced into the housing (10) from the side facing away from the head portion (11). A pressure channel being connected to the hose connector (41) consists of a longitudinal bore (45) extending in the wall of the cylinder sleeve (21) to supply the high pressure required to the rearward cylinder chamber (36). Thereby, it is avoided that the housing (10), in the area of support, is additionally subject to hydraulic pressure. In case of bursting of the pressure duct, the cylinder sleeve (21) is still held together by the housing (10).Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 1994Date of Patent: March 5, 1996Assignee: Paul-Heinz WagnerInventors: Klaus Ruessmann, Thomas Beyert, Paul-Heinz Wagner

Patent number: 5311797Abstract: The power wrench has a substantially T-shaped configuration and comprises a transversely extending housing (10) and a headpiece (11) extending centrally therefrom. The housing (10) comprises a working cylinder (17) and an additional cylinder (21). Both cylinders guide a unit (60) having at the one end a working piston (25) and at the other end an additional piston (29). The lever (41) of the headpiece (11) engages in a coupling member (27). The additional cylinder (21) drives the return stroke. Its area is substantially smaller than that of the working cylinder (17), so that the return movement does not require much hydraulic fluid. The headpiece (11) can easily be exchanged. Its lever (41) loosely engages in the coupling member (27) of the unit (60).Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 1993Date of Patent: May 17, 1994Assignee: Paul-Heinz WagnerInventors: Klaus Ruessmann, Thomas Beyert, Paul-Heinz Wagner

Patent number: 5003847Abstract: The hydraulic power wrench is provided with a wrench head (10) including a rotatably supported ring member (14) to be connected for rotation with a bolt head. The ring member (14) is driven be a piston (40) accommodated in a cylinder housing (11). Mutual engagement of the wrench head (10) and the cylinder housing (11) is effected by a holding recess (32) and an insert member (33). Thus, the wrench head (10) is connected in such a manner to the cylinder housing (11) that it can be easily detached. The connection is secured by locking members (34). By this arrangement, the wrench head (10) can be selectively combined with different cylinder housings (11).Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 1990Date of Patent: April 2, 1991Inventor: Paul-Heinz Wagner

Patent number: 4805496Abstract: The power wrench comprises a housing (10) with a rearward housing member (12) which forms a protection against bursting for the hydraulic cylinder (27) arranged within the housing member (12). Through a joint (38, 40) and self-aligning, the piston (35) acts upon the lever (18) which is supported coaxially to the ring (14). The lever (18) comprises a ratchet element (17) being supported at the lever (18) by a semisperical pressure member (20). The power wrench can be submitted to extremely high hydraulic pressures without a danger to the environment.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 1987Date of Patent: February 21, 1989Assignee: Paul Heinz-WagnerInventors: Paul-Heinz Wagner, Alois Meyer, Karl-Richard Hirtsiefer, Karl Beuke

Patent number: 4653913Abstract: In a heating device for atomic absorption spectrometers with electrothermal excitation of a sample, a tubular body for receiving the sample comprises a radial aperture (15) for introducing the sample at the central part of the tubular body. A pair of contacts (1, 2) can be cooled comprise current supplies (3), each consisting of a detachable upper part (5) and a fixed lower part (6) with the upper part and the lower part being connected together so as to be detachable. Each contact comprises an aperture (9) which is coaxial with the tubular body with the apertures extending partly in the upper part and partly in the lower part of the contacts and holding the ends of the tubular body. Damage and deformations of the contacts are avoided in that the diameters of the apertures (9), with the upper parts (5) laid flush on the lower parts (6), are shorter in the vertical direction than in the horizontal direction.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 1985Date of Patent: March 31, 1987Assignee: U.S. Philips CorporationInventors: Bernhard Lersmacher, Paul-Heinz Poque, Klaus-Dieter Zimmermann

Patent number: 4524651Abstract: A power wrench operated with a pressure medium comprises a wrench head casing (10) which is engaged by a piston-cylinder unit (28,29). The other end of the piston-cylinder unit (28,29) is pressing against a support element (27) guided on a guideway (22) of the wrench head casing (10). The outer end (28) of the support element is applied to a stationary abutment. Upon rotating the wrench head (10) the ring (11) retaining the bolt or screw head is entrained by a ratchet (15) only in one sense of rotation, while the wrench head casing (10) is returned idly without entrainment of ring (11) in the other sense of rotation.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 1982Date of Patent: June 25, 1985Assignee: Paul-Heinz WagnerInventors: Oswald Dubiel, Karl-Richard Hirtsiefer, Paul-Heinz Wagner

Patent number: 4440046Abstract: This power wrench includes a wrench head that rotatably supports a ring having a non-circular internal profile. A ratchet device moves the ring only in one direction of rotation with respect to the wrench head. The wrench head has an internal extension and a support element is coaxially pivotally attached to the wrench head. A piston cylinder unit, including a piston and a piston rod is provided. The first end of the piston cylinder unit is rigidly connected to the integral extension of the wrench head and the second end of the unit is in contact with the support element. The distance between the center of the wrench head and the first end of the piston cylinder unit is about the same as the distance between the center of the wrench head and the second end of the unit. One end of the piston rod is flexibly held at the piston and the other end is flexibly held at the support element.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 1981Date of Patent: April 3, 1984Assignee: Paul-Heinz WagnerInventors: Karl-Richard Hirtsiefer, Johann Muller, Kurt Walterscheid, Paul-Heinz Wagner
