  • Patent number: 6395790
Abstract: An oil-in-water emulsion composition comprising 0.5% to 20% by weight of a cationic emulsifier, up to 75% by weight of siloxane and water, wherein the siloxane is liquid and has units according to the formula Ra Si O4−a/2 wherein R is hydrocarbon or OH and a is 0 to 3 and wherein the cationic emulsifier is free from halogen in its counter ion, preferably methosulphate, etho-sulphate, acetate, tosylate, phosphate or nitrate. The siloxane preferably has a viscosity at 25° C. of from 10,000 to 1,000,000 mPa.s and is selected from polydimethyl siloxanes and polydimethyl polymethyl phenyl siloxanes. Also covered is a process of depositing siloxanes from such siloxanes.

  • Patent number: 4950237
Abstract: A dual chambered vial is equipt with a dislodgeable stopper device between the two chambers, whereby components of a mixture may be maintained in separate chambers until comingling is desired. The stopper is dislodged by means of a plunger activated by depression of flexible walls of one chamber.

  • Patent number: 4677939
Abstract: The apparatus for heating a fluid comprises a heating enclosure supplied in its lower part with fluid to be heated, a combustion chamber comprising a burner at one of its ends and extending on the side opposite the burner inside the enclosure, a fume circulation tube disposed inside the enclosure to constitute a contra-flow heat exchanger, which tube is hermetically connected to the outlet of the combustion chamber and opens out in a fume evacuation device located in the lower part of the enclosure in order to evacuate the fumes to outside the heating apparatus, and means for taking heated fluid in the upper part of the enclosure. The heat exchanger tube is constituted by an originally flexible, tight, ringed metal tube, disposed spirally substantially in the lower third of the enclosure, and so that the different turns of the ringed tube are tangentially in contact with one another in order to form a compact exchanger.

  • Patent number: 4651710
Abstract: A device for mounting a gas-fired heating apparatus on a wall and connecting it through a flue for communication with the outside of the wall. The flue comprises inner and outer coaxial tubular members defining inner and outer conduits for carrying combustion supporting air from the exterior to the heating apparatus and combustion gases from the heating apparatus to the exterior. A register admitting combustion supporting air and venting combustion gases is fitted at the free end of the flue remote from the heating apparatus. A support plate has a circular aperture in a base for locating the support plate on the outer coaxial tubular member and wings cooperable with fittings on the heating apparatus for supporting the heating apparatus. A gasket with a retaining collar is received along a portion of the support plate and tightened on the outer coaxial tubular member.

  • Patent number: 4315142
Abstract: A temperature regulating device for electric heating apparatus has a thermostat for controlling the operation of the apparatus, the thermostat being thermally coupled to a regulation resistor connected in series with a resistor, the resistance of which varies as a function of temperature. The latter resistance is thermally coupled to a differential correction first heating resistance and to a shift correction second heating resistance, these two resistors having different time constants and being energized, respectively, when the heating apparatus is turned on by the thermostat and when it is turned off.
