  • Patent number: 11251782
Abstract: As disclosed herein, a level shift circuit includes devices that are responsive to an ESD signal for placing those devices in a specific condition in response to the ESD signal indicating an ESD event. In some embodiments, the devices are transistors in current paths that are placed in a condition such that during an ESD event, voltage differentials in the current paths across voltage domain boundaries do not damage the circuitry of the level shift circuit. In some embodiments, some of the same devices that are responsive to the ESD event are also responsive to a signal to that detects the absence of a power supply voltage of one of the domains and places those devices in a condition to disable the level shift circuit if the power supply voltage is not present.

  • Publication number: 20110266380
Abstract: The invention provides for a dropped charge protection system, wherein the system includes calculating an angle of repose of a charge of a grinding mill during start-up and tripping the mill motor when the angle of repose of the charge exceeds a maximum allowable angle. The invention also provides for a control system for controlling the torque applied to starting a grinding mill, wherein the system includes using a pre-determined angle of repose, controlling a real angle of repose of a charge such that the real angle of repose coincides with the pre-determined angle of repose through the manipulation of the torque of the motor and wherein the angle of repose is controlled in such a way as to encourage tumbling of the charge.

  • Patent number: 4016730
Abstract: An improvement in refrigerators of the absorber type in which heat from a flame circulates the refrigerant in the refrigerating cycle, particularly for use in caravans. To prevent the flame being extinguished in draughty conditions there is provided shielding means for protecting the flame, a flue extending from above the flame upwardly to an exit into ambient air, and means at the flue exit such as a venturi device adapted to provide a reduction of pressure from ambient air to the interior of the flue in draughty conditions of the ambient air. Preferably, the shielding means totally encloses the flame and is provided with an inlet connection pipe adapted to provide access for ambient air to the interior of the shielding means, the entrance to the inlet connection pipe having baffles and foils adapted to prevent any reduction of pressure from ambient air to the inlet connection pipe interior in draughty conditions of the ambient air.
