  • Publication number: 20160178146
Abstract: An integrated ceiling and light system that incorporates a light module into a ceiling tile. The system may include a grid support system suspended from an overhead support structure that includes at least one grid support element and first and second ceiling tiles supported by the grid support element in an adjacent manner. A nesting cavity may be formed into the first and second ceiling tiles such that a light module may be disposed within the nesting cavity and coupled to the first and second ceiling tiles. The ceiling tiles may be of the type that conceals the grid support element on which it is supported. In one alternative embodiment, the light module and a nesting region of the ceiling tile may include corresponding edge profiles to facilitate mating therebetween to enable coupling of the light source to the ceiling tile.

  • Publication number: 20160178145
Abstract: An integrated ceiling and light system that incorporates a light module into a ceiling tile or vertical panel. In certain embodiments, the light module may be coupled directly to the ceiling tile. The light module may have a weight per unit exposed surface area that is less than a weight per unit exposed surface area of the ceiling tile. The ceiling tile may have a first weight per unit volume that is greater than a second weight per unit volume of the light module coupled thereto, thereby preventing sagging of the ceiling tile. The ceiling tile may have a recess formed therein with the light module disposed within the recess. In such embodiment, a weight of the light module may be equal to or less than three times the weight of the portion of the ceiling tile that was removed to form the recess.

  • Publication number: 20160053990
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a system for determining scaling in a boiler. At least one sensor may monitor a boiler during operation and provide sensor data to a boiler monitoring module including a boiler scaling determination module that may determine an amount of scaling in the boiler. Example sensor data may comprise power input, a temperature of liquid in the boiler and an air temperature within an enclosure housing the boiler. The boiler monitoring module may determine thermal energy transfer to the boiler based on the liquid and enclosure temperatures. A machine learning engine may determine a rate of thermal energy transfer to the liquid in view of the power input, the rate of thermal energy transfer being evaluated by the machine learning engine to identify delay in the rate of thermal energy transfer that quantifies an amount of scaling in the boiler.

  • Patent number: 7843910
Abstract: Deciphering and verification of the checksum of enciphered and encapsulated UDP datagrams, particularly those which enclose a tunneling protocol such as L2TP, are achieved by the provision of a checksum verifier in parallel with a decipher block. Checksum logic creates a pseudo UDP header needed for checksum verification using fields that would occur at the start of the packet that encapsulates the UDP datagram. The first part of the packet to be deciphered is the UDP header; checksum logic can latch the checksum field into a local register. As the rest of the packet is deciphered the checksum verifier processes the data at the same time. Eventually the checksum logic will acquire a complete checksum which can be compared with the checksum that had been previously latched, so as to verify the checksum.

  • Publication number: 20050029450
Abstract: An atomic force microscope is described having a cantilever comprising a base and a probe tip on an end opposite the base; a cantilever drive device connected to the base; a magnetic material coupled to the probe tip, such that when an incrementally increasing magnetic field is applied to the magnetic material an incrementally increasing force will be applied to the probe tip; a moveable specimen base; and a controller constructed to obtain a profile height of a specimen at a point based upon a contact between the probe tip and a specimen, and measure an adhesion force between the probe tip and the specimen by, under control of a program, incrementally increasing an amount of a magnetic field until a release force, sufficient to break the contact, is applied. An imaging method for atomic force microscopy involving measuring a specimen profile height and adhesion force at multiple points within an area and concurrently displaying the profile and adhesion force for each of the points is also described.
