  • Patent number: 9810520
Abstract: A tool measures relative concentricity deviations in a confined space between two circumferential elements, such as a turbine rotor and a turbine diaphragm. The tool includes a housing, and a sensor coupled with the housing that measures a distance from the housing to one of the two circumferential elements. An axial spring plunger is connected to the housing, and a radial spring plunger is connected to the housing and arranged orthogonal to the axial spring plunger. The tool also includes a sliding or rolling surface on a side of the housing opposite from one of the axial spring plunger and the radial spring plunger.

  • Publication number: 20170312934
Abstract: Machines and methods for constructing pallets include conveying stringers on a conveyor in a conveying direction to a pneumatic stop assembly including a pawl. The pawl is moveably mounted relative to the conveyor by a parallelogram linkage and moveable by a pneumatic actuator between first and second heights relative to the conveyor. While the pawl is at its first height, a lower board in a hopper is pushed from a shelf by a pusher and onto the stringers on the conveyor. While being pushed, the ends of the board slide along and between first and second slide rails on opposite sides of the conveyor. The board positioned on the stringers is sandwiched between the pusher and the pawl at the first height while being fastened together by a nail gun. After being fastened together, the pawl is moved to its second height which does not interfere with the fastened board and stringers being conveyed by the conveyor.

  • Publication number: 20170146172
Abstract: A hose assembly includes a fitting including a fitting end received in a shell. A sealing element is located at a junction between the fitting and the shell. The first fitting end has a nipple and the shell has an angled end that define a sealing space, and the sealing element is positioned within the sealing space. External pressure at the junction compresses the sealing element within the sealing space to form an energized seal. The shell may include a first shell end and a second shell end, the fitting end of the fitting being received within the first shell end of the shell. The shell my include a plurality of barbs that extend radially inward from an inner diameter of the shell that can grip into a hose, and a barb located closest to the shell end extends radially inward a smaller distance than other barbs to provide a barrier against ingression of contaminants.

  • Publication number: 20170105338
Abstract: A mulching device for attachment to a lawnmower includes a cutting assembly separate from the mower blades, wherein the grass clippings are finely cut and then dispersed onto the ground surface. In one embodiment, the cutting assembly includes an auger that compresses the grass clippings prior to cutting them. The mulching device may also include a separation chamber for separating the grass clippings from the forced air exiting the mower deck, so that the grass clippings may be cut in an environment separate from the forced air. In another embodiment, the mulching device includes a dispersion assembly for spreading the cut grass clippings onto a ground surface. The dispersion assembly may include a chute extending from the forced air outlet to a position adjacent the cutting assembly, wherein the forced air exiting the separation chamber is directed onto the cut grass clippings to disperse the cut grass clippings onto the ground surface.

  • Publication number: 20170088231
Abstract: A human-propellable vehicle (1) is described which comprises a chassis (2), and a rear wheel assembly (5) mounted to a rear portion of the chassis. The rear wheel assembly comprises a double wishbone suspension assembly, each wishbone (14, 22) of the double wishbone suspension assembly being coupled to the chassis at first and second coupling points, the second coupling point for each wishbone being closer to the rear of the chassis, and closer to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, than the first coupling point for that wishbone. By using a double wishbone set up at the rear of the bike it is possible to control weight transfer more efficiently. By providing a second coupling point for each wishbone which is closer to the rear of the chassis, and closer to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, than the first coupling point for that wishbone, it is possible to utilise a setup without having to adopt a higher seating position and without having to increase the rear wheel track beyond an acceptable width.
