  • Publication number: 20240122926
Abstract: Apelin receptor modulators can improve physical performance, slow progression of age-related frailty, and can reduce age-related muscle weakness in human patients. This disclosure provides methods for treating muscle conditions using a particular class of apelin receptor modulators (e.g., agonists). The muscle condition can be an age-related muscle condition. Also provided is a method for maintaining and/or increasing muscle mass, muscle function, and/or muscle strength in an elderly subject by administration of the apelin receptor modulator. In some embodiments, the apelin receptor modulator (e.g., agonist) is BGE-105, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

Abstract: An implantable medical lead includes a lead body extending from a proximal end to a distal end. The lead body includes an inner insulation layer and an outer insulation layer. The lead further includes a sleeve mechanically supported by the lead body at the distal end of the lead body. The lead further includes an uninsulated conductor coil. The uninsulated conductor coil includes a first portion having a first inner diameter, and a second portion having a second inner diameter and extending distally from the outer insulation layer. The first portion is positioned between the inner insulation layer and the outer insulation layer. The second inner diameter is greater than the first inner diameter. An outer surface of the second portion is exposed.

  • Publication number: 20240104745
Abstract: A method comprising: receiving a first image captured on an image sensor; obtaining a scene estimate for the first image, wherein the scene estimate comprises an estimate of the background signal for a region of space being imaged onto the sensor; storing the scene estimate in memory; receiving a plurality of successive images, wherein for each one of the successive images, the field of view is shifted with respect to the preceding image and overlaps partially with that of the preceding image; for each one of the successive images: retrieving the scene estimate from memory; subtracting the scene estimate from the image to obtain a background-subtracted image for output; updating the scene estimate based on the signal detected at the location on the image sensor to which the region of space is being imaged; and replacing the scene estimate stored in memory with the updated scene estimate.

  • Publication number: 20230053088
Abstract: A system that synchronizes waveforms received over a network from one or more devices, such as medical devices. Because of network delays or losses, waveforms can arrive at varying rates and times. Precise post-synchronization of the received data, to within a few milliseconds, is needed for accurate analysis. Applications include automatic classification of waveforms, such as detection of myocardial infraction from heart monitor waveforms. Synchronization uses sequence numbers assigned by each device, but must also account for sequence number wraparounds. Waveforms may also be synchronized across devices, by calculating the bias between within-device synchronized times and a common time source or common disturbance. Waveform data may also be stored data in a database or data warehouse; embodiments may index the data using a key with a date-time prefix and a hash code suffix, to support distributed indexing while reducing the chance of hash collisions to a very small probability.

  • Patent number: 11210636
Abstract: A proposal generator generates a proposal or request for employment with content derived from a job seeker description such as a résumé. The proposal generator relies on a natural language processor for text recognition, named entity recognition, skills identification. The proposal generator uses a trained classifier to compare skill sets of a task description to skill sets of a job seeker. A proposal is generated if a sufficient quantity of comparison scores and relevancy scores are determined for a particular pair of task description and job seeker description. The proposal has a relatively high likelihood of passing through a screener and being reviewed by a human employment decision maker.

  • Patent number: 11036696
Abstract: A method of pre-allocating resources for database provisioning in a private cloud may include determining characteristics of a plurality of databases in a customer's database system. The method may also include grouping the characteristics of the plurality of databases to generate a plurality of database templates that are descriptive of the plurality of databases. The method may additionally include causing resources to be pre-allocated in the private cloud based on at least some of the plurality of database templates. The method may further include receiving a selection of a database template from the plurality of database templates as part of a provisioning request. The method may also include causing a database described at least in part by the database template to be provisioned in the private cloud.

  • Patent number: 10992818
Abstract: Various of the disclosed embodiments concern computer systems, methods, and programs for brokering logins to software as a service (SaaS) applications and tracking usage of the SaaS applications. First, a user, e.g. employee of an enterprise, logs into a SaaS usage proxy using a first set of credentials. The first set of credentials is known by the user, e.g. preexisting credentials for an enterprise-wide authentication system. Once a SaaS application is selected by the user, the SaaS usage proxy logs into the SaaS application using a second set of credentials. However, the second set of login credentials is encrypted and not known by the user, which causes the SaaS application to be accessible only through the SaaS usage proxy. This allows the SaaS usage proxy to monitor all usage of the SaaS application, even if multiple network-accessible devices are used to log into the SaaS usage proxy.

  • Publication number: 20200241943
Abstract: A data processing system and method of data processing are provided. The system comprises first and second data processing agents and data storage shared coherently between the both data processing agents to store a message data structure to provide a message channel between them. A further data storage is accessible to both data processing agents to store message channel metadata, which provides message status information for the message channel. The message channel metadata is one of a plurality of message channel metadata types defined for a corresponding plurality of message channel types between the first and second data processing agents, and at least one of the first and second data processing agents is responsive to an initialization trigger to establish the message channel with a selected message channel type.

  • Patent number: 10692539
Abstract: Methods and systems for identifying video clips in a video clip repository that are of the same event are disclosed. Video clips are identified as being of the same event based on timestamps and geolocation stamps associated with the video clips. In one embodiment, authors of video clips receive messages that notify them of the existence of other video clips of the same event.

  • Publication number: 20190226363
Abstract: Apparatus, systems and methods are provided for the improved use of waste heat recovery systems which utilize the organic Rankine cycle (ORC) to generate mechanical and/or electric power from heat sources generating power from byproducts of water purification process(es). Waste heat energy obtained from heat source(s) is provided to one or more ORC system(s) which may be operatively coupled to electric generator(s). A heat coupling subsystem provides the requisite condensation of ORC working fluid by transferring heat from ORC working fluid to one or more other process(es) or system(s), such as anaerobic digester tank(s), to provide heat energy that enhances the production of fuel for the prime mover(s) without requiring the consumption of additional energy for that purpose.

  • Publication number: 20180052713
Abstract: Raw purchase data is heuristically transformed into license inventory. Raw purchasing data is received at an optimization engine. The raw purchasing data typically contains four key fields: SKU (aka Part Number), Publisher/Vendor, Description, and Quantity. Strings within this raw purchasing data are tokenized, weighted, and categorized using a language context sensitive algorithm. Learning is supervised via content packs. Composite categorizations are used as input to the products user rights library (PURL) to generate a set of completely configured licenses, even in the absence of valid SKU information. Categorizations can be adjusted or corrected by users and can be applied to only that instance, to every row for that publisher, or only in some specific context. Adjustments are fed back to the system for consideration as updated training data content. Licenses update dynamically as training data improves.
