  • Patent number: 11339108
Abstract: Methods and systems for preparing acetone from cumene hydroperoxide (CHP) are disclosed. The disclosed methods involve cleaving CHP to form a cleavage product stream. In some embodiments, the cleavage product stream is separated into an overhead stream and a bottoms stream. The bottoms stream is neutralized, washed and then treated in a crude acetone column to provide a crude acetone stream. The overhead stream of the cleavage product is flashed forward in the process, bypassing the neutralization, washing, and crude acetone column and is then combined with the crude acetone stream. The combined acetone streams are provided to an acetone product column. According to some embodiments, the acetone product column comprises a side draw for obtaining a recycle acetone stream, which is recycled to the cleavage reactor(s). The recycle acetone side draw may be located lower on the acetone product column than the point from which product acetone is obtained.

  • Publication number: 20220103883
Abstract: Techniques for broadcast in-home streaming are described. In some embodiments, the method is performed at a gateway device. The gateway device demultiplexes a broadcast stream to a plurality of streams, including a first stream and a second stream and anchors a first presentation time range of a first segment based on a random access point in the first stream and a first frame in the second stream. The gateway device also identifies one or more frames in the first stream based on presentation timestamps and decoding timestamps of a last frame in the first presentation time range and a first frame in a second presentation time range. The gateway device further captures frames from the second stream within the first presentation time range and generates the first segment having the first presentation time range, including the random access point, the one or more frames, the first frame, and the frames.

  • Publication number: 20200400370
Abstract: A packaged food product processing machine. The machine comprises a food consumer interface configured to receive a food consumer selection identifying an end state of a food product, a package cooling sub-system comprising a chilled fluid bath, a gripper component configured to agitate a package containing the food product in the chilled fluid bath, and a controller configured to command the gripper to control the rate of heat transfer from the package to the chilled fluid bath based on receiving an input identifying an end state selection from the food consumer interface and based on receiving an input containing a value of the physical parameter of the food product from the gripper component.

  • Patent number: 10649719
Abstract: A rotary fader apparatus includes a fader control knob that is directly attached to the rotor of a non-contact electrical motor. The apparatus may produce a fade effect based on the rotational position of the fader control knob and may be automated through signals to the motor. Such a rotary fader apparatus may be used, for example, in audio mixing applications to provide automated or manual rotary control of track fading. The motor may also be used to alter the feel of the movement of the fader control knob and/or provide tactile feedback in response to mixing parameters or signal properties.

  • Patent number: 10411643
Abstract: A floating solar array made of a closed loop of flexible high density polyethylene pipes with elbows, T fittings and couplings. An anti-lift membrane fills with water and mitigates the wind forces. The array can have a stabilizing skirt going downwardly from the border of the array, especially when it is used offshore in the sea. A vertical axis tracking system with windlasses, two anchoring points and four mooring lines allows all the solar panels to face the sun throughout the day. For small lakes or mine tailing, the two anchor points will be onshore, on a concrete foundation. Winches to wind and unwind the mooring lines are located at the anchor point or on the solar array. For larger water areas, or offshore applications in the sea water, the anchor points are under water; using typically a concrete block or a suction pile solution for each anchor.

  • Patent number: 10374733
Abstract: A linear fader includes a slider that is configured to slide along a rail. The slider includes a magnet. The linear fader also includes a plurality of coils spaced along a length of the rail, one or more sensors configured to detect a position of the slider along the rail, and control circuitry operatively coupled to the plurality of coils and the one or more sensors. The control circuitry is configured to receive a signal corresponding to a first location of the slider from at least one of the one or more sensors, receive a desired location of the slider, and cause a first electrical current to pass through the plurality of coils, thereby generating a force on the slider in a direction toward the desired location.

  • Patent number: 10141885
Abstract: A floating solar system having a peripheral buoyant pontoon within which is suspended an array of individual photovoltaic panels each equipped with a float. A stabilizing skirt drops down into the water underneath the pontoon and creates a more placid “moon pool” within the pontoon to reduce turbulence from wave action and therefore enhance the efficiency of the array of photovoltaic panels. A plurality of the floating solar systems may be aggregated to form an island of units. The individual panels or rows or columns thereof may be flat (horizontal) or tilted so that they can be oriented more normally with regard to the sun's rays.

  • Publication number: 20160062617
Abstract: Systems and methods for map zooming based on semantic meaning are provided. One example system includes one or more server computing devices configured to perform first operations. The first operations include receiving a request for a map from a first client device associated with a first user; obtaining user preferences data associated with the first user; and selecting a first semantic group from a plurality of semantic groups based at least in part on the user preferences data. Each of the plurality of semantic groups comprises a plurality of different semantic entities. The first operations include providing the map to the first client device. Zooming functionality provided to the first user allows the first user to zoom a displayed portion of the map between a plurality of different geographic areas respectively associated with the plurality of different semantic entities included in the first semantic group.
