The receptacle housing includes walls which define an opening to receive an electrical socket device, such as an outlet. When in the closed position, the walls of the receptacle housing enclose the electrical socket device and extend beyond a front face of the electrical socket device to protect the socket from the weather.

    Abstract: An ultrasonic tying tool for installation of a tape about a bundle of elongate articles. The tool includes an ultrasonic horn wherein the welding tip is moveable between a first position for welding of a tape to secure the tensioned loop about the plurality of articles and a second position wherein the welding tip is translated a distance from the first position to effect cutting of the tensioned loop from the stock of tape and to tack weld the loose cut end to the underlying tape of the loop to eliminate any protruding sharp edges. The tool additionally includes a belt drive mechanism for advancing the tape to the jaw assembly and for tensioning the tape following looping of the tape about the outside.

    Abstract: An improved cable tie dispensing apparatus includes a cutting and feeding apparatus which advances and severs a cable tie from an elongate strip of cables ties for delivery to an automatic cable tie installation tool. The cutting and feeding apparatus provides an elongate platform for supporting a cable tie strip therealong and a severing location adjacent one end of the platform which is defined to support one cable tie. An alignment pilot is supported adjacent the severing location and is movable towards the severing location so as to separate the supported cable tie from the strip to which it is connected. The alignment pilot includes a punch for severing the web between adjacent cable ties upon movement of the pilot toward the severing location. A firing chamber is included which has an open face for insertion of a single cable tie therein. The open face is sealably closed by movement of the pilot toward the severing location.

    Abstract: A cable tray support system supports a plurality of cables and conduits therein. Cable tray support system includes a pair of longitudinally extending transversely spaced rails and a plurality of longitudinally spaced transversely extending cable support members extending between the rails. Cable support members include provisions for the secure support of cables within the tray by use of both a cable tie and a pipe strap. Such combination provides greater flexibility to the cable tray of the present invention by allowing several securement techniques within a given cable tray system.

Deflectable fingers extend into the passages to provide for support of the conductors and for the accurate alignment of the conductors over the insulation displacing contact portions upon movement of the conductor holding block with respect to the electrical housing.

    Abstract: An electrical connector is provided for the termination of jacketed multi-conductor electrical cable. The connector includes a connector housing defining a first bounded opening which permits passage of the cable therethrough. The cable strain relief device is positioned adjacent the first bounded opening of the housing. The cable strain relief device includes first and second hermaphroditic strain relief members for securing the cable therebetween. The first strain relief member is fixedly positioned within the housing and the second strain relief member is movably supported with respect to the first strain relief member. The first and second strain relief members define a fully bounded opening surrounding the cable. The first and second strain relief members are movable so as to reduce the size of the seconded bounded opening for frictionally securing the cable thereat.

    Abstract: An electrical connector provides for termination of shielded electrical cable. The connector includes an electrically insulative housing supporting plural electrical contacts. A conductive contact shield is positioned within the housing for electrically shielding the contacts. The housing further includes a strain relief device operable to frictionally secure the cable to the housing. The ground clip is positioned within the strain relief device for engagement with the cable shield upon cable termination. The ground clip is also resiliently engageable with the contact shield upon insertion of the contact shield into the housing. The engagement of the contact shield with the ground clip establishes electrical continuity between the cable shield and the contact shield.
