  • Publication number: 20040134927
Abstract: The dispenser of the present invention is for delivering product such as cards, paper stock or the like product to a demand location. The dispenser includes a product hopper for a plurality of product; a feed belt for receiving the product; at least two feed assemblies; and a drive motor operably attached to the feed belt and each feed assembly.

  • Publication number: 20040060984
Abstract: A smart card handling system is for handling a plurality of smart cards. It includes an infeed mechanism, a discharge mechanism, a rotary drum, an indexing mechanism, a motor and a control system. The rotary drum has a plurality of evenly spaced smart card read modules. The drum is mechanically connected to the infeed mechanism and the discharge mechanism. Each smart card read module is adapted to receive a smart card from the infeed mechanism and is adapted to read information from the smart card received therein. The discharge mechanism is adapted to receive smart card from the smart card read modules. The indexing mechanism is operably connected to the drum. The motor has a drive shaft mechanically connected to the indexing mechanism. The control system receives information from each of the plurality of read modules.

  • Publication number: 20040045794
Abstract: The conveyor assembly of the present invention is for affixing booklets and the like to a moving web. The conveyor assembly includes a pair of endless chain each having a plurality of lugs attached thereto, a pair of lug supports and a pair of booklet supports. The plurality of lugs are pivotally attached to the each endless chain. Each lug has an elongate pushing arm and a support arm. Each lug is movable from a pushing position to a retracted position. The pair of lug support are spaced apart and generally parallel and are for supporting the support arm of the lugs. The pair of booklet support are spaced apart and generally parallel and are spaced above a respective lug support.

  • Patent number: 6598375
Abstract: In order to fit a box lid to a box tray a pair of opposed plates are used. Each plate is pivotably mounted intermediately of its upper and lower edges such that upper edges of the opposed plates may pivot toward and away from each other. Each plate is biased to an inclined position whereat the upper edges of the opposed plates are more proximate than the lower edges of the plates. With this arrangement, a lid may be placed with respect to the pair of opposed plates such that opposed lower edges of the lid are positioned below the upper edges of said plates and at an outward side of said plates. A box tray may then be raised between the plates such that the box tray urges each of the plates away from its inclined position.

  • Patent number: 5322989
Abstract: An on-the-fly smart card reader has a card conveyor for continuously conveying smart cards in a downstream direction at regular intervals. A support has a pair of read heads spaced at an interval equal to the interval between cards on the conveyor. The read heads have spring-loaded contact probes which overlie the card conveyor. The support is driven in synchronism with the card conveyor in a circulating path with a downstream path segment proximate the card conveyor. The support is positioned such that, while travelling downstream, its read heads are positioned for mating with the contacts of an adjacent pair of smart card travelling along the card conveyor.
