Abstract: A garment for wear by the operator of a sport motor vehicle includes a map access pocket system disposed on or formed as part of an outer surface of the garment. This map access pocket system is configured to present a map to the wearer of the garment in a convenient orientation to be easily read when the map access pocket system is opened. The map access pocket system includes features which improve readability of the map by presenting the map aligned along a line of sight of the wearer of the garment, and other features which discourage the wearer of the garment from attempting to read the map while the vehicle is in motion. The map access pocket system also provides for storage of small items which are easily accessed by the operator of the vehicle. Both the map and other small items stored in the map access pocket system are protected from water, moisture, snow, and other elements commonly encountered in operation of sport motor vehicles.

Abstract: A versatile weather-resistant, ventilated, and protective garment particularly for wear by operators, occupants, and passengers of motor-sports vehicles, such as motorcycles, other vehicles, and some open aircraft, includes a water-proof garment shell provided with a vent opening. The vent opening may be secured open or closed in a fair-weather configuration. for foul weather, the vent opening also includes a labyrinth seal structure in combination with a generally vertically-extending water-gutter structure so that wind-blown rain water and traffic mist, for example, will be blocked from entry into the garment. Water which does enter an outer portion of the vent openings, will be drained by the water-gutter structure. The garment also includes a cargo storage system having a storage area with plural pockets allowing the wearer to carry along small personal items in the garment. An opening of the ventilation structure also provides access to the cargo storage area.

Abstract: A neck covering is provided for a jacket or other garment including a member attached at its central portion near the inside of the collar of the garment, with side portions projecting outwardly in either direction which can be wrapped around the neck of the wearer. Fasteners on the ends of the side portions secure the neck covering in place. The central part of the covering is constructed to attach to the lining of the jacket, which may be provided with a slot adjacent the attachment of the neck covering to permit the neck covering to be pushed through the slot and stowed in back of the lining when not in use.

Abstract: A garment is provided which has air scoops adjacent the wrist portions of the sleeves of the garment defined by a longitudinal opening interconnected by an outer web, and an inner web connected to the material of the sleeve at spaced locations on either side of the opening. A flap is included to extend over the outer edge of the scoop when it is not to be used, and which may be secured to the inner layer of the scoop when the scoop is in use. The garment may include an air-pervious lining and a discharge opening on the back of the garment for allowing air received in the scoops to flow along the arms and discharge from the garment.
