Abstract: A reversible fishing rod holster comprising a hip plate and a tube configured to receive a fishing rod. The hip plate includes at least one slot configured to enable a hip plate to be attached to a belt. The hip plate further includes at least one aperture configured to receive at least one fastener attached to the tube for removably attaching the tube to the hip plate. The tube receives the handle end of the fishing rod, securing it for hands free fishing. The tube includes at least one fastener for removable attachment to the hip plate. The tube further includes an inner sleeve configured to house an extendible spike. The spike may be extended and secured in the ground, allowing the user to move away from the water. The holster includes at least one fastener to secure the spike in place. The holster is reversibly configured for attachment to the right or left side of the user's belt, for right and left-handed use.
