  • Patent number: 7613264
Abstract: A method for implementing a flexible sampling-rate encoder, comprising the steps of (A) sampling an input signal at a regular time-interval to produce sampled data, (B) generating a pseudo-random bit sequence having a plurality of bits, wherein each bit corresponds to a different sampling time, (C) encoding a first set of the sampled data to generate an encoded stream when any bit in the pseudo-random bit sequence is equal to a first value, wherein each bit in the encoded stream corresponds to one of the sampling times defined in step (B), and (D) determining the different sampling time for each sample in the encoded stream.

  • Patent number: 7471337
Abstract: A method for synchronization of an audio stream and a video stream comprising the steps of (A) determining a first presentation time stamp from the video stream and generating a first handshake signal when the video stream is ready to be transmitted, (B) repeating and dropping one or more audio frames of the audio stream in response to the first handshake signal and a plurality of first predetermined threshold values until a second presentation time stamp from the audio stream matches the first presentation time stamp and generating a second handshake signal when the audio stream is ready to be transmitted and (C) transmitting the video stream and the audio stream in response to the second handshake signal.

  • Patent number: 4958895
Abstract: A thin film optical waveguide made of a polymeric waveguiding film supported on a substrate, the film being made of a homopolymer of vinylpyridine or of a derivative or vinylpyridine in which the pyridine heterocyclic nucleus is substituted. Alternatively, a copolymer containing a major proportion of vinlypyridine, or of said derivative thereof, may be used in the film. A layer of a material having a lower refractive index may cover the film. The polymer may be modified to increase its capacity for refractive index variation in response to an electric field, by inclusion in the structure of the polymer of at least one optically nonlinear moiety. The polymer may also include cross-linking. The thin film optical waveguide may incorporate a laser dye in the film, for use with laser devices.
