  • Publication number: 20210208352
Abstract: Optical fibers and optical fiber cables for use in high temperature applications are provided. An optical fiber for use in high-temperature applications includes a core, a cladding surrounding the core, a metal coating surrounding the cladding, and a barrier layer surrounding and in direct contact with the metal coating. The barrier layer may include a boron nitride lubricant, the barrier layer being a dried film on the metal coating, in exemplary embodiments having a thickness of between 2 microns and 20 microns. Alternatively, the barrier layer may include a synthetic metallic grease, the synthetic metallic grease in exemplary embodiments having a thickness of between 20 microns and 200 microns.

  • Publication number: 20100076786
Abstract: Personalized health information is provided by maintaining a patient profile over time and matching information from the patient profile to appropriate patient-centric information related to that patient's specific medical condition. The patient profile can include a variety of medical information. The patient profile is matched, for example, to patient-centric options for care, clinical trials for which the patient is eligible, drug treatment regimens directly related to each patient's specific condition, scheduling of the treatments, survivorship plans and data, information about managing symptoms, nutritional information, rehabilitation recommendations, possible adverse events based on specific treatments to monitor, and personalized education and information. The patient profile can be populated with information from a database, such as one associated with a cancer registry.

  • Publication number: 20080075103
Abstract: A diagnostic device, such as a network probe or a blade, with wired and/or wireless communication capabilities. In one example embodiment, a network probe includes a processor, a memory in communication with the processor, and a buffer in communication with the processor. In this example embodiment, the processor is programmed to identify a triggering event in data received by the network probe and store, in the buffer, data that is associated with the triggering event.

  • Publication number: 20070086351
Abstract: This disclosure relates implementing resource allocation in a wireless communication system. In one example, first a resource allocation manager maintains a database that includes categories of wireless end point device errors. Each category in the database is cross-referenced to a corresponding diagnostic service. Next, the resource allocation manager receives a notification of an error in a wireless end point device. Then, the resource allocation manager categorizing the error. Next, the resource allocation manager queries the database to identify a diagnostic service that is cross-referenced to the error category to which the error corresponds. Finally, the resource allocation manager sends the notification of the error to the diagnostic service that is cross-referenced to the error category to which the error corresponds.
