  • Publication number: 20210192915
Abstract: A method includes receiving first position data from at least one of a TOF sensor or a LIDAR. The first position data is representative of a position of a human within a hazardous environment. The method further includes receiving second position data associated with a plurality of wearable sensors associated with a plurality of personnel. The method further includes comparing the first position data to the second position data to identify a match between the first position data and the second position data. The method further includes sensing a signal to an alert device associated with the hazardous environment such that the alert device issues an alert in response to the first position data failings to match the second position data.

  • Publication number: 20210119811
Abstract: A method may include receiving a check-in request at a server of a consent management platform from a content-presentation device. The request may by or include an authentication certificate for establishing a secure communicative connection. A device token cryptographically-signed by the server, a global identifier (GID) unique to the content-presentation device, and a device-based device record may be received over the secure communicative connection. The server may retrieve a server-based device record for the device from a flat database using the GID as an index key, and then compare a device-based sequence number in the device-based device record with a server-based sequence number in the server-based device record. If the sequence numbers match, the server may send a check-in complete message to the content-presentation. If the sequence numbers do not match, the server may initiate a synchronization procedure with the content-presentation device.

  • Publication number: 20210117982
Abstract: A method may include a consent manager server of a consent management platform retrieving from a file server a consent-package file identifying a consent package and including information for establishing a secure interactive session with a content-presentation device for selecting consent-agreement options associated with consent features of a media distribution system that require consent to be activated for the device. Receiving input (i) specifying consent agreements for the package and associated text descriptions of the agreements, (ii) associating devices with the package, (iii) specifying a jurisdiction for the agreements, and (iv) designating features of the package as active. The package file may be updated with the input and re-stored in the file server. Responsive a consent-processing request from a content-presentation device, an interactive session may be established with the device for receiving user consent choices.

  • Publication number: 20210119992
Abstract: A method may include receiving a registration request at a server of a consent management platform from a content-presentation device, and using an authentication certificate in the request to establish a secure communicative connection. The server may generate: a global ID (GID) from information received over the secure connection; a device-based device record for the device, and including the GID and a unique address indicator; and a cryptographically-signed token. The GID, device record, and token may be transmitted to the device. The unique address indicator may be associated with consent packages having features of a media distribution system that require user consent to associated agreements for activation on the device. The server may generate a server-based device record duplicating the device-based device record, and including the consent packages and indicators of consent agreement status initialized to undeclared. The server may store the server-based device record in a flat database.

  • Publication number: 20210120316
Abstract: A method may include receiving a consent-processing request at a consent management platform from a content-presentation device, and using an identifier string in the request to establish a secure interactive session configured for user selection of consent options associated with a particular consent package of the platform, where the package may include identifiers of consent features of a media distribution system that require user consent in order to be activated for the device. The platform may then receive, via the interactive session, user consent data including a respective consent choice for each of one or more consent options, where each respective consent choice indicates acceptance or rejection of consent to activating an associated consent feature identified with the particular consent package. The received respective consent choices may be stored in a database of the consent management platform. Corresponding data may be stored in a whitelist on the content-presentation device.

  • Publication number: 20210119808
Abstract: In one aspect, a method carried out by a content-presentation device may include transmitting a consent-processing request, including an identifier string unique to the device, to a consent management platform disposed in a computing cloud. The string may be used to establish an interactive session for user selection of consent options associated with a consent package having consent features of a media distribution system that require user consent for activation on the device. The consent package may be one of multiple consent packages targeted for the device by the consent management platform. The interactive session may prompt for consent choices of consent options, each choice being acceptance or rejection of consent to activating features of the consent package. The consent choices may be provided to the consent management platform via the interactive session, and corresponding information may be stored in a device-based activation whitelist for each consent-to feature.

  • Publication number: 20200393346
Abstract: Various embodiments include methods and systems to dilute a sampled particle-laden aerosol stream in a recirculating type of aerosol diluter system. In one embodiment, a system to dilute a sampled aerosol stream includes an aerosol sample inlet. A primary diluter device includes a first inlet to receive the aerosol stream and a second inlet to receive a filtered portion of the aerosol stream and combining the filtered portion with an additional sampled aerosol stream. A flow diverter device splits at least the sampled aerosol stream into a first portion of the sampled aerosol stream and a remaining portion of the sampled aerosol stream. A filter receives the remaining portion of the sampled aerosol stream and provides a filtered aerosol stream to the second inlet of the primary diluter device. Other methods and apparatuses are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20200289913
Abstract: An attachment for a ski waxing iron, which prevents molten ski wax from flowing onto ski sidewalls, is comprised of two clamping bars and two blades. The clamping bars may be affixed to the iron base, parallel to each other. Thin blades are affixed to the front end of the clamping bars and extend rearward. From the front of the attachment to the rear, the distance between the blades becomes smaller. As the iron base with affixed attachment is drawn along the length of the ski base, the blades, held tight to the ski by spring tension, prevent molten ski wax from flowing downward onto the ski sidewalls. This results in a thicker wax layer remaining on the ski base and eliminates the need for removal of wax from the ski sidewalls.

  • Patent number: 10772643
Abstract: A device for simultaneously monitoring the health of surgical drills and detecting proximity to critical structures during surgery is described herein. By using various sensors (e.g. microphones, accelerometers, temperature sensors, etc.), signals from the drill can be measured and analyzed. The processed signals can then be used to indicate the proximity of the drill bit to critical structures, such as the patient's brain, and identify drill health issues (e.g. worn bearings, misaligned rotational axis, etc.).

  • Patent number: 10732082
Abstract: Various embodiments include methods and systems to dilute a sampled particle-laden aerosol stream. In one embodiment, a system to dilute a sampled aerosol stream includes an aerosol sample inlet. A filter is coupled in fluid communication with and in parallel with a flow-monitoring device to receive the sampled aerosol stream from the aerosol sample inlet. The flow-monitoring device is configured to allow for a passage of particles contained in the sampled aerosol stream. A pressure sensor and a temperature sensor monitor the filter and the flow-monitoring device. An output from the filter and the flow-monitoring device may be directed to particle measurement or particle sizing instrumentation. An actual dilution ratio of the output sent to the particle measurement or particle sizing instrumentation is determined based on a nominal flowrate of the flow-monitoring device and thermodynamic properties of a gas comprising the aerosol stream. Other methods and apparatuses are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10674862
Abstract: A coffee brewing apparatus which can prepare either hot or cold coffee extract having a filter body (8) and two reservoirs (14a and 14b). The filter body 8 is a hollow cylinder with male threaded ends (10a and 10b). A mesh filter (12) is affixed to interior of the filter body (8). Two self-supporting reservoirs (14a and 14b) have female threads (16a and 16b) near their ends. Coffee grounds (18) and either hot or cold water (20) are added to one of the reservoirs. The apparatus is then assembled by joining the cylinder's male threaded ends (10a and 10b) to both reservoirs' female threaded ends. The assembled apparatus is then allowed to sit for a period of time, while coffee flavors are extracted into the water. The entire apparatus is then inverted, the mesh filter (12) removes the coffee grounds from the coffee extract (22), and the coffee extract is collected in the now lower reservoir (14a). The apparatus is disassembled for consumption of the extract, and is cleaned and reused.
