  • Patent number: 6348851
Abstract: Breaker switch arranged on a wall (4) of an electric device (9) including a receptacle (20), containing a thermofusible composition (25) having a softening point &thgr;1, and a flexible metal strip (10) interposed between two studs (2a, 2b) fixed by one end to the wall (4) extending above the receptacle (20) and being provided in its free portion with means (14, 18-19) for the anchoring thereof in said thermofusible composition to bend the strip (10) against the two studs (2a, 2b). The receptacle (20) is advantageously extended by a heat probe (27) going to the core of the device (9). When the temperature of the device (9) exceeds &thgr;1 the anchoring means (14) are released from the thermofusible composition by the elastic return force of the strip (10) thereby opening the contact between the studs (2a, 2b). Application to a battery, in particular of the lithium-ion type.

  • Patent number: 6232015
Abstract: Prismatic battery for a non circular spiral winding, having a metal container (1) of equal thickness formed by a rectangular base (15) and, perpendicular to the latter, by two small walls (12, 14) attached to said base (15), two large walls (11, 13) attached on the one hand to the small walls (12, 14) via narrow strips (21 to 24) of width 11, on the other hand to the base (15) via narrow strips (25, 25a) of width 12, said strips (21 to 24, 25 to 25a) being inclined towards the external faces of the large walls (11, 13) and having between them junction lines (26) from the four angles of the base (15).

  • Patent number: 6190794
Abstract: Prismatic battery including a metal container (1) within which is arranged a non circular spiral winding (2) of at least one composite strip (10) including an anode (2a) and a cathode (2c), separated by porous separators (2b) impregnated by an electrolyte, said container (1) being sealed at its upper portion by a cover (4). The spiral winding (2) is formed around a rigid spool (20) including an upper flange (21), having the dimensions of the opening of the cavity (16), and a lower flange (22), having the inner dimensions of the bottom (15), said flanges being joined by a central neck (24) and, on either side, by two lateral necks (23, 25), said necks (23, 24, 25) delimiting two openings (26a, 26c) in the median portion of the spool (20) and a free space (27) at its periphery to accommodate the winding (2).

  • Patent number: 6159630
Abstract: Safety vent for a battery, sensitive to an abnormal rise in temperature, closed by a cover (4), separated from the active materials by an insulating element (21) and carrying two contact terminals (7, 8) electrically connected to the electrodes via connection means (5, 6), wherein at least one of the contact terminals (7, 8) is formed at least partially by a rigid metal rod (30), mounted with an annular clearance (18) in a tube (11) of which one portion (11a) of smaller diameter passes through the insulating element (21) and the cover (4), and of which a portion (11b) of larger diameter rests on the inner face (21a) of the insulating element (21), the other end (13) thereof being crimped over the outer face (4b) of the cover (4) and in that the clearance (18) formed between the tube (11) and the rod (30) is sealed by a thermofusible composition (14).

  • Patent number: 5930873
Abstract: A system for attaching a wristlet to a watch case (15) comprises at least one pin (45), which is situated in a cylindrical housing (45A) of a flexible resilient film (30), made of a plastic material or rubber, and at least one link (25) for attaching the wristlet to the watch case. The connection between the watch case and the wristlet is achieved as a result of the presence of the film (30) which is inserted in openings, provided within the attaching link (25) and the other links of the wristlet. The cylindrical housing (45A) comprises a series of hollow extensions (48), communicating with said housing, so that the coupling of a plastic element, such as the film (30), with the attaching link (25) made of metal has the effect of increasing the traction resistance of the wristlet with respect to the prior art.

  • Patent number: 4520085
Abstract: Individual cells defined by metallic housing elements which at the same time serve as leads or pole plates (1, 2), have a narrow annular insulating body (3) which is arranged in the edge zone of the housing elements and holds the pole plates (1, 2) at a mutual distance. To obtain a stable cell assembly with precisely defined and reproduceable dimensions, an insulating body (3) is proposed which consists of a metal core (4) and an electrically insulating oxide-ceramic layer, formed thereon, as the potential insulation. The insulating body (3) is irreleasably joined to the pole plates (1, 2) by means of a connecting layer (8) which is resistant to chemicals.
