  • Patent number: 7412802
Abstract: A wall and buttress construction for swimming pools in which deck support extensions can be secured to the top of the buttresses. The wall includes a plurality of panels having end flanges at the sides of the panels, and a double slotted peg is provided. One of the slots is shorter to receive a wedge when a peg is placed through two abutting panel end flanges, and the other slot being longer to accommodate a wedge when the peg is being used to join a brace as well as two abutting end flanges. The end flanges have elongated openings therethrough for receiving the pegs that are oriented diagonally, rather than either vertically or horizontally. The elongated openings, pegs and wedges are easily visible/accessible for inserting pegs as a result of the diagonal orientation.

  • Publication number: 20070144082
Abstract: A curvable panel for swimming pools and the like includes a panel that is flexible to form concave or convex surfaces. At least one elongated reinforcing member is secured to the panel to retain the panel in the desired shape. Locating features such as notches or the like in the elongated reinforcing member and the panel ensure that the panel retains the desired shape. The panel can be readily formed into a variety of shapes, thereby reducing the tooling, inventory, and other such costs that would otherwise by incurred if a plurality of rigid curved panels were utilized.

  • Patent number: 5400555
Abstract: A hanger plate for interconnecting an upper segmented wall of a swimming pool to a vertical support. The swimming pool includes a floor and a plurality of walls formed by an excavation in the earth. A plurality of wall panels are interconnected end-to-end and located about the top of the excavation. Adjacent each joint of the segmented wall is one vertical support. Each vertical support is located to the exterior of the excavation and secured in the earth. A hanger plate having at least two rows of holes interconnects the vertical support and segmented wall. A first row of holes are elongated in a first direction while the second row of holes are elongated in a direction at a right angle to the first. The elongated holes provide for adjustments vertically and horizontally. The segmented wall is capped by an extruded coping which retains the upper edge of a vinyl liner fitted to the walls and floor of the pool.

  • Patent number: 4548005
Abstract: The specification discloses a pool wall assembly including first and second pool wall panels and a brace supporting the panels. Structure is included for securing the brace to only the first panel so that the first panel and brace may be aligned together prior to the securement of the second panel. Structure is also included for securing the second panel to at least one of the first panel and the brace. An anchor assembly secures the brace in position. The anchor assembly includes a stake which extends through and slidingly engages the brace and a wedge, telescopically received in the stake, which can be moved with respect to the stake into forcible engagement with the brace to maintain the brace in position. Each panel includes an integral bead extending from the lower portion of its face to define the line to which the pool side wall overlap extends. Also disclosed is a method of erecting a pool wall using the structure disclosed.

  • Patent number: 3936152
Abstract: A device for binocular viewing of, for instance, fluorescent screens, image converters, and image intensifiers. Designed to be hand held, the device is light and compact. A single optical system of at least four lens elements provides the desired magnification. Behind the last element (in the direction of travel of the light from the object being viewed to the eyes of the person using the device) there are two rhombic prisms to spread the light beam to the two eyes of the user. In a preferred form, the prisms are adjustable to match the interpupillary distance of the user. At least one of the lens elements of the magnification system preferably has an aspherical surface.
