  • Publication number: 20240143885
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide for eliminating or reducing uniquification of blocks in a chip-level graph of a computer chip, to reduce the size of the graph while still encoding block-specific information. For each group of blocks in the graph generated from a multiply-instantiated block (MIB), a block in the group is selected as a base block. The physical position of the base block is encoded in a reduced graph, and the physical positions of the remaining blocks are encoded as a linear transformation of the physical position of the base block across the face of the chip. Each group of blocks instantiated from the same MIB is represented as a single instance. The reduced graph can be fed into a device configured to perform a circuit component placement process, to identify the placement of circuit components for blocks in the chip in accordance with one or more objectives.

  • Patent number: 9912633
Abstract: Systems and methods for managing communication in an IP network between a server and a probe that does not maintain an IP address by selectively restricting which IP addresses that are identified as active in the network may be borrowed for the probes. Restriction of IP addresses may include a black list to exclude specific IP addresses, a white list from which IP addresses can be drawn or both. This permits control over which IP addresses may be borrowed by probes, reducing false alarms, alerts or other network concerns caused by unexpected IP traffic on a particular IP address in the network.

  • Patent number: 9628209
Abstract: The invention relates to time synchronization between network testing elements in distributed network monitoring and testing systems, and provides a method for synchronizing packet timestamps generated by a network probe with a free running clock to a master clock connected at a different location of the network. In one implementation, the probe eavesdrops on a PTP message exchange between the master and a remote slave device, recording message reception times according to it free running clock and transmitting relevant timing information to a rest server for determining the probe clock offset and updating the probe packet timestamps.

  • Patent number: 9319933
Abstract: An Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) device is described. The ITS device (400) includes: radio resources including a receiver (402) adapted to receive a radio signal in at least two frequency bands; a channel detector (410) arranged to analyse a signal received in a first frequency band to determine the presence of a transmission in that frequency band; a controller (402) configured to control assignment of radio resources, and in the event that the channel detector detects a signal in the first frequency band, to prevent transmission of a potentially interfering radio signal. The first frequency channel can be part of another radio communications system, such as a RTTT1 SSRC radio system.

  • Publication number: 20160099816
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for improving receiver performance in a multicarrier communication network in which an encoded symbol is transmitted over a transmission channel in the communications system. A model of the transmission channel is estimated, said model characterising an effect of intercarrier interference on at least one carrier in the multicarrier system. The received symbol is decoded using the estimated model to remove a predicted effect of intercarrier interference. A pre-processor is also described for operation in conjunction with a communications receiver in the network. The pre-processor includes a channel estimator operable to estimate at least one feature of the communication channel based on a received signal. The pre-processor modifies the received signal dependent on the at least one estimated feature and provides the modified signal to the communications receiver.

  • Patent number: 8930594
Abstract: Described is an integrated circuit (IC) that allows for communication between any input/output (I/O) pin and onboard peripherals. Accordingly, the resultant IC can be easily documented and connections between I/O pins and peripherals can be managed for each peripheral independently. The IC may include one or more sets of hardwired connections that provide a connection between of any I/O pin and any onboard peripheral. The hardwired connections may include the use of one or more crossbars. This increases the overall functionality and potential applications for an IC as the only limitation on peripheral connectivity is the number of I/O pins.

  • Patent number: 8252213
Abstract: In preparing dentures, hardened mould material surrounds the denture. This mould material is adhered inside a denture flask with a housing having two separably matable portions. To remove the hardened mould material from the flask, the flask is mounted in a mould press having a shaft, with one of the portions is restrained against movement along an axis of travel of the shaft. A portion of the mould material at an end of the restrained flask portion is available for contact with the shaft along the axis of travel. A capped end of the shaft is forcefully advanced against the adhered mould material therein, thereby breaking the adhesion. After this is done, the denture flask is dismounted from the mould press and the hardened mould material is removed from the first flask portion. If necessary, the process is repeated with the other housing portion.
