  • Patent number: 8878917
Abstract: Autostereoscopic systems permitting various degrees of free movement of a viewer are provided. Some embodiments incorporate both a light-controlling module which provides for autostereoscopic viewing, and a lenticular array distinct from that module, which enhances movement permissiveness of the system. Some embodiments provide an eye-position detector and means to aim light of left and right stereoscopic images appropriately towards a viewer's left and right eyes respectively.

Assignee: EHN Spire Limited Liability Company
    Inventor: Paul Kleinberger
  • Patent number: 8611006
Abstract: Systems for three-dimensional viewing and projection aimed at full-color flat-screen binocular stereoscopic viewing without the use of eyeglasses for the viewer. According to the invention, light emanating from a display or projected thereat presenting a left image and a right image is directed only to the appropriate left or right eyes of at least one viewer using various combinations of light polarizing layers and layers of light rotating means.

  • Publication number: 20100152722
Abstract: The present invention relates to devices and methods for cryosurgery. More particularly, the present invention relates to a cryoprobe which does not form strong adhesive or mechanical bonds with body tissues when such tissues are frozen by cooling action of the probe. Embodiments of the present invention include a cryoprobe having a distal cooling module with an outer surface layer of non-polar molecules, a probe having a distal cooling module with a microscopically smooth outer surface, a cryoprobe comprising a mechanism for coating a distal cooling module thereof with non-polar lubricant during movement of the cryoprobe within body tissues of a patient, and a non-cooling cryosurgery probe with non-adhesive features. Also presented are methods utilizing disclosed cryoprobes to facilitate cryosurgery and to enhance accuracy of cryoablation of user-selected cryoablation targets.

  • Publication number: 20080203277
Abstract: There is provided a light-sensitive system responsive to light supplied by the system and less responsive to other light. The system includes a light source operable to supply time-modulated illumination, and a light sensor having greater response to the time-modulated illumination than to light from sources not so modulated. The invention may be embodied as a camera sensitive to supplied light and relatively insensitive to ambient light, and is useful in providing images for automated image interpretation. A method for photographing an object is also provided.

  • Patent number: 7190518
Abstract: The present invention relates in general to systems for and methods of three-dimensional viewing of displays and projections. One embodiment two layers (50, 90) are uniform polarizing filters and a birefringent layer with individually switchable elements (60) is sandwiched between them. Together these layers (50, 60, 90) constitute a parallax layer (40). This parallax layer (40) is located at a certain distance from a display (10). This placement, and the existence of opaque areas on the parallax layer (40) which permits to a viewer see a three-dimensional image. The individual elements (601–615) of the birefringent layer (60) are controlled by a control element (80), which is in communication with a head-tracking sensor (85). This allows the individual elements (601–615) of the birefringent layer (60) to be selectively turned on and off according to the position of the viewer's head.

  • Patent number: 5050071
Abstract: A computer program for the storage and retrieval to information texts is provided the ability to access and retrieve external text files created by other application programs. The program stores information as texts and creates a summary text associated with each external text file. Keywords associated with the external text can then be indexed to the summary text so that a keyword search of the information texts can use the summary text. If a search leads to the summary text, the user can use a hot link to immediately launch the external program to access the external text file.
