Abstract: The systems and methods described herein can advantageously allow users to discretely measure their exhaled breath in an easy, cost-effective and non-invasive manner. A handheld breath sensing system may be provided with a main housing, a first mouthpiece, a lid, a sampling chamber, a sensor and a microprocessor. The first mouthpiece may be configured to allow a user to exhale into the mouthpiece. The lid may be movable between an open position and a closed position. The sampling chamber may be in fluid communication with the first mouthpiece. The sensor may be in fluid communication with the sampling chamber and configured to measure at least one property of a user's breath. The microprocessor may be configured to process electronic signals from the sensor such that at least one volatile organic compound in the user's breath can be quantified and a resulting biomarker measurement provided to the user in near real-time.

Abstract: A walking brace is provided. The walking brace includes a U-shaped malleable stay configured to hold a manually-bent shape. The walking brace includes an integral portion. The integral portion includes a footbed, a first upright disposed at a first side of the footbed and a second upright disposed on a second side of the footbed. The integral portion is overmolded onto the U-shaped malleable stay such that the U-shaped malleable stay extends through each of the footbed, the first upright and the second upright. Other walking braces are provided wherein the integral portion includes a pocket configured to receive the U-shaped malleable stay at an underside of the integral portion such that the U-shaped malleable stay extends through each of the footbed, the first upright and the second upright. A method of manufacturing a walking brace is also provided.

Abstract: An ergonomically designed transactional terminal according to the invention in one embodiment includes a housing having a top portion partially defined by a touch screen, a base, and an enlarged head portion extending forwardly from the base to define a lip. An insert style card reader having horizontally oriented feed slot opening toward the front of the housing is disposed in the lip of the housing. The feed slot may be angled downward slightly to reduce build up in the slot and to encourage a sweeping action by a card during card removal. The touch screen may be angled downward in coplanar relationship with the feed slot to improve visibility of the touch screen and to improve simultaneous observation of touch screen and card indicia.

Abstract: The invention is a transaction terminal having an encryption mode apparatus comprising a secure information entry circuit and a secure mode indicator. The secure information entry circuit is operable to execute an encryption routine including steps that involve application of an encryption algorithm. Further included in the secure mode information entry circuit is cryptographic firmware which adapts the secure information entry circuit so that an encryption mode signal is caused to change state when an encryption routine is called. The indicator of the encryption mode apparatus is made responsive to the encryption mode signal so that the indicator indicates to a user as to whether data entered into the terminal will be encrypted by the terminal.

The golf bag is oriented transversely across the back of the wearer and includes a liquid refreshment pocket for holding a bottle in an upright position accessible to the hand of the wearer. For example, when worn by a right handed user, the bottle pocket, which is on top of or near the ball pocket is easily accessible to the wearer's left hand. The bottle will be held in an upright position adjacent the wearer's left side for right handed golfers, and may be reached by the left hand without difficulty. The bottle pocket is configured to tightly hold the bottle against the bag, such that the bottle is in an upright position when the bag is worn across the back. The bottle pocket could include vent holes for draining any condensation or other liquid which collects in the bottle pocket. The bottle pocket is sized to fit standard size bottles.
