  • Patent number: 9404794
Abstract: A blood analyte measurement system is configured to receive a test strip. An LED proximate to the test strip is used to illuminate the test strip and, in conjunction with a photodiode, to determine its type. A compensation circuit of the measurement system insures that ambient light does not cause interference with the LED illumination to prevent saturation of the photodiode.

  • Publication number: 20130292119
Abstract: A downhole plug for plugging and method of controlling fluids within a borehole in an oil and/or gas well. The downhole plug has a body having a throughbore for the passage of fluids. The plug also has a mechanical anchoring device that can radially expand an anchoring member on an outer surface of the body to lock the body in a fixed axial position within the borehole and an annular sealing device that can radially expand a sealing member on the outer surface of the body to seal an annulus formed between the outer surface of the body and an inner surface of the borehole. The plug also has a throughbore plugging device that can change configuration between a first open configuration in which the throughbore of the body permits the passage of fluid, and a second closed configuration in which the throughbore resists the passage of fluid.

  • Publication number: 20100015714
Abstract: A soil sample of fixed volume is mixed with a drying agent (MgSO4) and then acetone. The liquid is filtered off and a sample is applied to the sensing surface of an attenuated total reflectance (ATR) device in an IR spectrometer. After evaporation of the acetone, absorption is measured in a C-H stretch region (e.g. 2950 cm?1) to provide a value indicative of the amount of oil in the sample.

  • Patent number: 7486659
Abstract: A VR-VRF gateway enables VPN sites utilizing different VPN models, such as a virtual router based VPN and an IETF 2547 based VPN, to exchange routing information and communicate with each other over a VPN tunnel. Each VPN site on a VPN provides routing information to the VR-VRF gateway which stores the routing information in a routing table for that VPN. The routing information is distributed by the VR-VRF gateway to the other VPN sites. When the VR-VRF gateway receives a packet of data to be passed over the VPN tunnel, it accesses the routing table for the particular VPN to ascertain how the packet is to be routed, or the next hop attribute for the packet. Where the VR-VRF gateway is not configured to handle data traffic on the VPN tunnel, it populates routing entries on another network device on the VPN tunnel to enable the other network device to handle the actual traffic over the VPN tunnel.

  • Publication number: 20070199204
Abstract: The present invention uses multiple global cooling chambers for providing liquid cooling to a plurality of electronic components. The global cooling chambers utilize a non-electrically conductive fluid which is in direct contact with the components to be cooled. The system provides very effective heat transfer rates, environmental isolation of the electronics components and can be deployed in a wide range of applications. Multiple global cooling chambers allows for the hot swapping of cards during operation of the system. Valves provide the ability to minimize the amount of interaction between the cooling fluid and air outside the chambers.
