  • Publication number: 20210342512
Abstract: Semiconductor modules are used for controlling drive motors such as the electric motors of electric vehicles. IGBT modules are one type of such semiconductor modules. During operation, heat losses arise in the power transistors and the diodes of the semiconductor modules, which causes an increase in their temperature. Therefore, the manufacturers of the IGBT modules recommend that the software of a control unit that controls an IGBT module be provided with a protective function which continuously monitors the temperature of the IGBT module and intervenes as necessary if an unacceptable temperature of a component of the IGBT module is reached. A temperature model is used for the calculation. The manufacturers provide a more accurate higher-order temperature model that however causes an increased amount of computation. According to the proposal, a reduced temperature model is used that is calculated using the balanced truncation method and is optimized for certain working ranges.

  • Patent number: 9128491
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for regulating a pressurized gas, said device including: a stopper (4) engaging with a seat (5) and capable of closing a pressurized gas passage; a so-called low-pressure chamber (29) downstream from the seat (5), the low-pressure chamber including a plate (27) to which the stopper (4) is coupled, and the plate being subjected to the force of a spring (30) housed in said chamber (29) and arranged concentrically relative to the seat (5) and the fastening means (28) thereof. The chamber (29) is defined by a diaphragm (26) in free contact with the plate (27). The opposite surface of the diaphragm (26) is subjected to the force of a spring (20) having a prestress which is adjustable via control means (13, 14). The control means are indexed according to two positions: a first prestress release position for ensuring the closure of the device at the stopper (4), and a second calibrated prestress position of the diaphragm (26) corresponding to the regulator operational position.

  • Patent number: 8539725
Abstract: Architectural glass panels for use in a wide variety of building wall systems, such as curtain walls and storefronts, which have improved resistance to damage from earthquake and/or other loads that could cause horizontal racking movements of architectural glass panels within their glazing frames are disclosed. Embodiments include various types of architectural glass panels that have material removed at panel corners and are fabricated with smooth edge contours in the corner regions. A preferred embodiment includes various types of architectural glass panels that have rounded corners with or without finished edges.

  • Patent number: 8360101
Abstract: The invention relates to a valve device of the cylinder valve type, comprising a filling coupling (11) connected directly to the inlet (2) of the valve without passing via the valve shut-off device (4, 8). A filtering element (12) is positioned in a chamber at the intersection between the inlet to the valve and the device for shutting-off the valve. This allows the filter to be arranged optimally from the accessibility point of view and also from the gas flow point of view. Specifically, the filter is arranged in the chamber in such a way as to filter the stream of gas flowing towards the outlet (3) of the valve via the shut-off device, thus protecting the latter, and also in such a way as not to filter the stream of filling gas flowing from the filling connector of the valve towards the inlet.

  • Patent number: 8007011
Abstract: A sealed flange joint for high pressure and/or high purity fluid channels includes a first flange with a first fluid channel and a cylindrical front cavity. The front cavity is axially delimited by a ground surface and radially by a peripheral surface. The first fluid channel passes axially through the first flange to open into the ground surface. A polymer seal ring has a radial outer surface and a radial inner surface, and is fitted into the cylindrical front cavity so that its radial outer surface engages the peripheral surface of the front cavity. A second flange is removably fixed onto the first flange, and has a second fluid channel in axial continuation of the first fluid channel. The second flange has an axially protruding cylindrical front nipple with a conical head, the second fluid channel axially opening into an end surface of the conical head.

  • Publication number: 20090038687
Abstract: The thermally activated pressure relief valve (10) has a piston (14) normally retained in a closed position and being movable to an open position in case the valve (10) is exposed to an abnormally high temperature. An elastic slotted spring sleeve (20) is disposed within a sleeve (18) of fusible material. In a non-activated state the fusible sleeve (18) maintains the spring sleeve (20) in a radially compressed condition wherein it has a smaller inner diameter effective to retain the piston (14) in the closed position. When the fusible sleeve (18) melts the spring sleeve (20) radially expands to a larger diameter permitting movement of the piston to the open position wherein it is partly received in the spring sleeve (20).

  • Patent number: 7182099
Abstract: A tap for a gas or liquid cylinder is provided that comprises an inverted seat primary valve located in a main portion of a tap body and a secondary check valve spring biased into closed position and located below the lower end of a threaded section of a root end portion of the tap body. Both valves are actuated by an elongated stem extending from the main portion of the tap body into the root end portion. When the tap is fixed to a gas or liquid cylinder, the secondary check valve is located in the cylinder, thereby remaining operative when the tap body is sheared-off at a location where it extends out from a cylinder tap aperture.
