  • Publication number: 20120251823
Abstract: The invention provides a tow prepreg having improved productivity and performance. In various embodiments, the tow prepreg has 90% or more resin impregnation and a FAW greater than 600 g/m2. A method of making the prepreg by impregnating each continuous reinforcement fiber strand with a thermosetting resin is also disclosed. In various embodiments, the resin is applied to the reinforcement fiber while flattening the fiber between heated rollers positioned in parallel to each other.
