Patent number: 10768961Abstract: Generating secondary virtual machine seed image storage is provided. An input is received to deploy a primary virtual machine and a secondary virtual machine based on a golden virtual machine image. In response, the primary virtual machine from the golden virtual machine image on a primary data processing site and the secondary virtual machine from the golden virtual machine image on a secondary data processing site are deployed. Execution of the secondary virtual machine is suspended on the secondary data processing site. Using the golden virtual machine image, a seed image corresponding to the secondary virtual machine is generated that is up-to-date at that point in time in storage at the secondary data processing site to form the secondary virtual machine seed image storage. The secondary virtual machine seed image storage is enabled to receive state data updates from the primary virtual machine on the primary data processing site.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 2016Date of Patent: September 8, 2020Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Paul L. Bradshaw, Richard E. Harper, Valentina Salapura

Patent number: 9668827Abstract: Oral appliances adapted to for spacing the occlusal surfaces of the teeth of a user are disclosed. The oral appliances have an integral retention band interconnecting a first bite pad and a second bite pad. The first bite pad can include a first spacer and the second bite pad can include a second spacer that are configured to maintain the spacing of the occlusal surfaces of opposing teeth of a user during clenching or upon an impact to the jaw. Methods for the manufacture of composite oral appliances are also disclosed. The methods include forming a composite oral appliance over a model of a user's mouth.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2013Date of Patent: June 6, 2017Assignee: BITE TECH, INC.Inventors: Mark Roettger, Robert C. Molhoek, Jon D. Kittelsen, Henry D. Cross, III, Paul A. Broadbent, Paul L. Bradshaw, Paul C. Belvedere, William L. Ballanoff

Patent number: 8327004Abstract: Novel storage area networks (SANs) and methods of operation thereof utilize a plurality of hosts coupled via an interconnect with one or more storage units. A manager device, process or other functionality in communication with a plurality of agent processes, devices or other functionality, each of which is associated with a host. The agents identify attributes of (i) their associated hosts, (ii) interconnect to which that host is coupled, and/or (iii) storage units to which that host is coupled via the interconnect. The manager responds to these attributes identified by the agents to manage the SAN. The manager can be implemented on a first digital data processor and the hosts on further digital data processors. These digital data processors can be coupled via a first network, e.g., an IP or other network, to support communications between the manager and the agents. A second network, e.g.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2006Date of Patent: December 4, 2012Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Duane M. Baldwin, Paul L. Bradshaw, Barbara J.
