  • Patent number: 4862987
Abstract: An all-wheel-drive off-highway heavy truck comprising a cab (1) and a platform (2) mounted on a chassis which is rigid about the vertical axis. This chassis is mounted on front and rear axle sets (4, 5), each comprising front and rear axles and four wheels (41, 43, 51, 53). The wheels of the front axle set (4) are steered and the front axles include constant velocity joints, the axles of the front set being otherwise similar to the axles of the rear set. The suspensions of the axle sets (4, 5) include leaf spring stacks connected between the front and rear axles of the relevant set at each side, and clamped in a central portion to a pivot axis (83) about which the axles can pivot. Reaction rods connect the axles with the pivot axis. Hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers are connected between the axles of the front set and the chassis.

  • Patent number: 4743059
Abstract: This invention relates to a mobile sanitary unit, which can function autonomously and in any site. The unit comprises a sealed aseptic container with the dimensions of a standard 20-foot container. The container has a door giving access to an operating theater, changing facilities, and storage cupboards. An electrical supply unit is disposed in a housing in the front wall of the container, for connection to an external generator. The unit includes telescopic legs at all four corners of the container mounted on supports which may be folded flat against the container wall for transport, and deployed so that the container may be on-loaded and then off-loaded and used on site standing on its legs. The unit may be transported by an articulated truck comprising a tractor and low-platform semitrailer. An electrical generator set is mounted on the saddle of the semi-trailer. The unit may also be transported by air and its weight of 3.5 tonnes enables it to be dropped by parachute.

  • Patent number: 4270765
Abstract: Disclosed is an air-transportable and highly autonomous vehicle of the type comprising a single-unit chassis supported in the front by a set of driving and steering wheels and at the rear by two axles to which suspension leaf-springs are coupled. The leaf-springs may slide longitudinally relative to the axles. The stack of leaves is carried in its transverse median plane by an equalizer mechanism which is angularly movable on the end of a pivotal shaft. In this vehicle, each end of a pivotal arm (17) is carried in a fixed sleeve (18) with which it is rendered rigid, the sleeve being extended downwardly by a member (20) for fixing one of the ends (21.sub.1) of a part (21)of the reaction links. This sleeve is surmounted by an equalizer support (22) which is also fixed and receives the ends (23.sub.1) of the other part (23) of the links, the free ends (21.sub.2 -23.sub.2) of all of the links (21-23) being assembled with supports which are fixed against rotation and clamped to the two axles (16).
