  • Patent number: 11940848
Abstract: An electronic device display may have pixels formed from crystalline semiconductor light-emitting diode dies, organic light-emitting diodes, or other pixel structures. The pixels may be formed on a display panel substrate. A display panel may extend continuously across the display or multiple display panels may be tiled in two dimensions to cover a larger display area. Interconnect substrates may have outwardly facing contacts that are electrically shorted to corresponding inwardly facing contacts such as inwardly facing metal pillars associated with the display panels. The interconnect substrates may be supported by glass layers. Integrated circuits may be embedded in the display panels and/or in the interconnect substrates. A display may have an active area with pixels that includes non-spline pixels in a non-spline display portion located above a straight edge of the display and spline pixel in a spline display portion located above a curved edge of the display.

  • Publication number: 20070211829
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for reducing signal degradation of a communications signal caused by reducing the average-to-minimum amplitude ratio (AMR) of a communications signal. According to one exemplary method, times when the amplitude of a communications signal falls below or is likely to fall below a predetermined magnitude minimum. Corrective pulses are generated, which are combined with the communications signal in the temporal vicinities when the amplitude of the communications signal falls below the predetermined magnitude minimum, to reduce the AMR of the communications signal. The corrective pulses are generated by a nonlinear filter that is configured to minimize the amount of in-channel distortion the corrective pulses introduce to the communications signal by their insertion while substantially preserving an out-of-band measure of quality of the communications signal.

  • Publication number: 20070104289
Abstract: A transmitter has a signal generator, an amplifier, a detection circuit, a comparison circuit, a loop filter, and an adjustable clock. The signal generator produces a signal. The signal is produced with a first frequency characteristic and contains frequency-related information. The detection circuit detects the first frequency-related characteristic and generates an associated signal in response. A comparison circuit compares the signal from the detection circuit and another signal. It outputs a signal associated with the difference between the two. A loop filter receives the output of the comparison circuit and generates a signal to the signal generator in. The loop filter is clocked at a second frequency by a signal from a clock circuit. The clock circuit can compare the first frequency and the second frequency, and can change the second frequency based upon a relationship between the two frequencies.

  • Publication number: 20070056550
Abstract: A primary housing for a motorcycle engine includes an inner housing that defines internal coupling apertures, transmission coupling apertures, and external coupling apertures. Internal fasteners extend through the internal coupling apertures and the transmission coupling apertures to couple the inner housing to the crankcase and the transmission. An outer housing defines coupling apertures that align with the external coupling apertures and fasteners extend through the coupling apertures, through the external coupling apertures, and into the engine crankcase to couple the inner and outer housings to the crankcase. A resonant damping device is rigidly or moveably coupled to an anti-node region of the outer housing to reduce noise emissions from the outer housing during engine operation.

  • Publication number: 20060227895
Abstract: This invention, generally speaking, modifies pulse amplitude modulated signals to reduce the ratio of average power to minimum power. The signal is modified in such a manner that the signal quality remains acceptable. The signal quality is described in terms of the Power Spectral Density (PSD) and the Error Vector Magnitude (EVM).
