  • Patent number: 5820643
Abstract: A dust filter bag (1) for a vacuum cleaner (3), with a retaining plate (H). The bag is constructed of a solid paper material, such as cardboard for example, to which a dust bag (12) is joined, for example adhesively, with a closure flap (13) turned towards the inside (15) of the dust bag (12), hinged on the retaining plate (H), which closure flap (13) is openable against a spring action and, in closed condition, keeps closed an opening (O) in the retaining plate (H). To make the dust filter bag simpler in construction and more advantageous as regards use, a band-like spring element (F) is attached to the closure flap (13) in such a way that, in the closed condition (FIG. 4), there is formed a clearance (Y) between a band end (E--E) and a hinge axis (14), lying outside of the band, of the closure flap (13), where the hinge axis (14) is provided turned towards the inside (15) of the dust bag (1).

  • Patent number: 4888850
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner nozzle arrangement has a nozzle defining a suction channel arranged across the width of the nozzle with suction edges surrounding the channel. The nozzle is connected to a connecting wand via a conduit segment disposed therebetween and a vacuum cleaner can be attached to the connecting wand. The nozzle is suspended from the nozzle housing by means of a so-called parallel crank drive. The nozzle housing is configured to be driven or pushed upon a surface to be cleaned.

  • Patent number: 4358165
Abstract: A holding device for supporting a turnable shaft in a housing of a domestic machine comprises a supporting member inserted into a recess provided in the housing of the machine. The supporting member includes a slotted ring-shaped portion which embraces the shaft in assembly and two elongated arms downwardly extended from the ring-shaped portion. The recess provided in the housing is in turn formed with a circular portion adapted to receive the ring-shaped portion of the supporting member and an elongated portion which serves to receive two arms of the supporting member. The supporting member is provided with two oppositely positioned hooks formed on the arms thereof which bear against undercuts formed in the recess of the housing. The housing is formed with an elastically yieldable portion which is pushed between the arms of the supporting member in assembly to clamp the supporting member and to thereby reliably arrest this member in the housing.

  • Patent number: 4146283
Abstract: A separate power head for a vacuum cleaner is detachably connectable with the vacuum cleaner housing. It has a casing provided with an airflow passage and an electric motor. A tubular connector serves to connect the head to the housing and to simultaneously establish an airflow connection between the airflow passage and a dust receptacle in the housing, as well as an electrical connection between the electric motor and a current supply source in the housing.

  • Patent number: 4134605
Abstract: An arrangement for connecting an attachment to a vacuum cleaning device includes two connecting sleeves, one on the attachment and the other on the device. One of the connecting sleeves has an inner and an outer portion which together bound a groove in which a projecting portion of the other connecting sleeve is received in the assembled condition. The shapes of such portions are identical but the dimensions thereof are proportionately different. Each of the portions includes a part-cylindrical circumferential zone and a polygonal zone gradually merging with the part-circular zone and complementing the same into the respective circumferentially complete portion. The other connecting sleeve may have a transverse wall at the polygonal zone, which abuts against a corresponding transverse region of the one connecting sleeve, and a seal may be sandwiched therebetween in the assembled condition. Another seal may be accommodated in the groove in the assembled condition.
