Abstract: A system and method for strong access control to a network is provided. An access control server and authentication device are provided for controlling access to a network. The access controlled by the access control server may include network protocols, network resources, and electronic devices that may be coupled to the network. Network resources may include data stored on the network. The access control server may grant access to the network to a user based upon a correct response received from an authentication device assigned to the user. The user may be able to access only selected data that may be determined by an access level assigned to the authentication device. Upon authentication, the authentication device must remain active to maintain a network session. The authentication device becomes inactive when it is deactivated, uncoupled from the network, or in any mode in which the device cannot produce a response to the access control server.

Abstract: A support device for mounting a sunshade on a platform, and includes a mount member secured on the platform, an angle adjusting member pivoted to the mount member so as to be rotatable relative to the mount member, and an anchoring member mounted movably on an adjusting segment of the angle adjusting member and adapted to anchor an elongate housing of the sunshade. A positioning member is disposed on the anchoring member and is retainingly displaceable between proximate and distal adjusting regions on the adjusting segment so as to enable adjustment of angular position of the anchoring member. By rotating the angle adjusting member relative to the mount member, the anchoring member as well as the sunshade can be adjusted to a desired height.

Abstract: A system and method of data encryption and decryption for controlling access to a data storage device such as a hard disk drive or optical drive is provided. The invented method utilizes data encryption and decryption techniques, combined with a token device, to control access to data stored on the data storage device.

Abstract: A sunshade device includes an elongated housing, a rotary shaft journalled in the housing, and a screen wound around the rotary shaft and movable between retracted and stretched positions. An elongated screen guiding member is mounted in the housing, and has a convex outer wall surface. The intermediate section of the screen extends along and is in contact with the convex outer wall surface such that the screen is curved and has a curvature conforming to that of the convex outer wall surface of the screen guiding member when extended past the screen guiding member. A curved end strip is mounted on the distal end of the screen, and has a curvature conforming to that of the convex outer wall surface of the screen guiding member.

Abstract: A bag has a paper layer with a die cut window formed therein, and a second layer of poly-woven scrim that is translucent so that material contained within the bag may be visually inspected through the window. The die cut window is registered relative to the bag ends and any printing on the bag.

Abstract: In a sunshade device, a roller is journalled in an elongated housing and has a screen wound therearound. The roller is biased to rotate in a screen-winding direction for winding the screen thereon. A drive gear is fixed to the roller. A threaded rod parallel to the roller is fixed in the housing, and has a follower gear sleeved threadedly thereon. The follower gear is formed with grooves arranged around the rod axis and meshing with the drive gear. Each groove has a groove bottom, and first and second groove ends formed respectively at first and second end portions of the follower gear. The groove bottom at the first groove end is displaced from the rod axis by a distance smaller than that of the groove bottom at the second groove end.

Abstract: A lawn mower is provided with a connecting frame of a sufficient length such that the connecting frame can be fastened to a vehicle for synchronous movement therewith so as to mow a lawn when both the vehicle and a cutter unit of the lawn mower are activated.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for dynamically generating data encryption keys for encrypting data files and for decrypting encrypted data files via a key exchange method is provided. A dynamically generated an encryption key is generated for each encryption event, so that the key cannot be produced or reproduced. A key exchange component of the invention ensures that only an intended recipient has the means to decrypt a file encrypted with the dynamically generated symmetric encryption keys.

Abstract: An extensible framework for the automatic extraction and transformation of metadata into logical annotations. Metadata imbedded within a media file is extracted by a type-specific parsing module which is loaded and executed based on the mimetype of the media file being described. A content processor extracts information, typically in the form of time-based samples, from the media content. An auxiliary processing step is performed to collect additional metadata describing the media file from sources external to the file. All of the metadata thus collected is combined into a set of logical annotations, which may be supplemented by summary data generated from the metadata already collected. The annotations are then formatted into a standardized form, preferably XML, which is then mapped into a database schema. The database object also stores the source XML data as well as the original media file in addition to the annotation metadata.

Abstract: A sunshade has a sunshade body with a front side adapted to face a light source, and a rear side opposite to the front side. A light-catalytic coating layer is provided on at least one of the front side and the rear side, and includes a light-activable catalyst capable of oxidizing and decomposing air contaminants.

Abstract: A cache system for storing request messages expressed in Extended Markup Language (XML) and the responses to those messages. The inbound request message, which typically takes the form of an HTTP request message containing an XML request document as its payload, is received via the Internet from a remote sender. The XML request portion of the inbound message is then translated into canonical form, preferably conforming to the predetermined standard canonical form established as an Internet standard. The canonical XML request is then compared with previously received canonical requests. To speed the process of comparing the inbound canonical XML request with previously cached XML requests, an access key, such as a checksum or a hash integer, is generated from the content of the inbound request. The access key is then used to identify zero or more prior canonical requests which may match the inbound canonical request.

Abstract: A syndicator for disseminating Web services and other resources from service and content providers to service consumers and for establishing and implementing a subscription agreement which specifies the terms upon which digital assets are provided to the subscribing consumers. A registration database stores a service description for each of a plurality of different Web services and other resources. Each stored service description contains an input processing specification, an output processing specification, and the specification of the business terms upon which the described service or resource is offered by its provider to subscribers. A subscription manager conducts a negotiation with a prospective subscriber and recieves from the subscriber an acceptance of the business terms upon which a specified Web service or resource is offered to establish a subscription agreement.

Abstract: A fixing rack for use in quickly clipping an accessory on to a pistol has an elastic clipping seat made of an elastic sheet having two opposing sides that are bent upwardly and inwardly to a preset angle. Each side of the elastic sheet has an inwardly-extending flange, and the two flanges defining an opening therebetween that varies in width when the sides are flexed. The fixing rack also includes two releasing plates, each releasing plate attached to one of the two sides of the elastic sheet to flex the two sides. The fixing rack also includes a fixing sheath attached below the clipping seat, the fixing sheath having a chamber for receiving a pistol accessory. The fixing rack can be quickly and conveniently attached to a pistol by flexing the releasing plates to widen the opening between the flanges, thereby allowing the flanges to be slid into corresponding wedging grooves in a pistol.

Abstract: A fixture attaches a pistol accessory to a pistol. The fixture has a seat having a holding hole for retaining the pistol accessory, the seat having a generally U-shaped body with two flank sides connected by a bottom surface, and with each flank side having an inner surface and a fixing hole. The seat further includes a sliding track disposed on the inner surface of each flank side, with each sliding track slidable along one of the longitudinal grooves along the bottom edge of the pistol barrel. The fixture also includes a fixing rod extending through the fixing holes in the two flank sides, and an elastic mechanism provided adjacent the bottom surface of the seat and engaging the fixing rod to bias the fixing rod into a transverse groove at the bottom edge of the pistol when the fixture is attached to the pistol.

Abstract: A protective port and container that incorporates the protective port are provided as well as a method for protecting a container. The protective port is attachable to the container by conventional methods and includes faces that are bendable from a base member that includes tubular ports extending therefrom. The faces protect the port from accidental penetration by a pierceable member and further provide a rigid gripping surface to manipulate the access openings to simplify the insertion of the pierceable member into one or both of the access openings.

Abstract: An auxiliary device includes a connecting member mounted to a lawn mower. An anchoring member has a second mounting wall confronting a first mounting wall of the connecting member in a first direction. An operating member has a secured portion connected to the anchoring member and an operating portion extending from the secured portion in a second direction transverse to the first direction. An interconnecting member is disposed between the first and second mounting walls to permit the anchoring member to rotate relative to the second coupling portion around an adjusting axis parallel to the first direction. A motor is mounted in the operating portion, and has an output shaft with an axis extending in the second direction. The motor is powered by a power supplying member of the lawn mower.

Abstract: A sun-shade device includes an elongate housing formed with a slit, a roller journalled in the housing, a screen wound around the roller and having an upper edge which extends out of the housing via the slit and which is provided with a horizontal strip, a biasing member provided in the housing for biasing the roller to rotate in a direction for winding the screen on the roller, and left and right stretching arm units, each of which includes an upper arm member having an upper first end pivoted to the horizontal strip and a lower second end, and a lower arm member having an upper third end pivoted to the second end of the upper arm member, a lower fourth end, and a mounting portion formed between the third and fourth ends and mounted pivotally on the housing. A drive unit is connected to the fourth ends of the lower arm members for driving pivoting movement of the upper and lower arm members so as to stretch or retract the screen.
