Abstract: A lock with mixed mechanical and electrical control which utilizes a key device which includes mechanical notching for cooperatively engaging pistons carried within the lock stator and rotor and which also includes a signal emitter which is selectively alignable with a signal receiver which activates an electro-mechanical drive which is operatively connected to control the locking and unlocking of the lock bolt when the key device is at a position of the rotor which is different from the position at which the key device is introduced into the rotor.
Abstract: An ignition lock for a motor vehicle has a cylinder provided with a recess into which the plunger of an electromagnet can project in the absence of energization of the electromagnet when the ignition switch is in the off position. A remote control circuit for operating the doors of the vehicle is independent of a second circuit for responding to the presence of an appropriate key in the cylinder while a control circuit is responsive to both of these previously mentioned circuits for energizing the electromagnet only when the appropriate signal is received from the remote control unit and when the proper key is inserted in the cylinder so that in the absence of the first-mentioned signal even the proper key will not cause retraction of the plunger to permit the ignition lock to be operated.
Abstract: A wheel lock for the steering system of an automotive vehicle can make use of the power-assist hydraulic cylinder whose piston is connected to the steering linkage. The device includes a slide valve connected between the distributor of the power-assist system and the power cylinder and has a slide plug which can be displaced between positions allowing normal power-assist functions and blocking flow to and from the power cylinder to lock the steering. A key-operated switch can energize an electric motor whose threaded spindle drives a nut connected to the plug to shift the latter when the ignition is turned off, into the wheel-locking position.
Abstract: The invention relates to a steering shaft anti-theft device for a motor vehicle, of the type comprising a lock bolt interacting with at least one radial hollowed-out part of a sleeve integral with the steering shaft.The anti-theft device according to the invention is characterized by the fact that the said sleeve is hollow and has an external slit over its entire periphery, the interior of the housing thus formed in the sleeve containing a plurality of free rotary elements and a stop integral with the sleeve, the assembly consisting of the said rotary elements and stop not occupying the entire circumferential space of the said housing, the lock bolt being able to occypy an unlocking position in which it is completely outside the said sleeve and a locking position in which it penetrates the said housing of the sleeve via the said peripheral slit.
Abstract: The invention relates to a master-key piston lock comprising a cylindrical rotor pivoting in a bore of a stator, the said stator comprising radial holes opening into the said bore and in each of which there slides a stator piston spring-loaded towards the said bore, the said rotor comprising an axial key passage into which there open radial holes open at their other extremities at the peripheral surface of the rotor, a right circular-cylindrical rotor piston sliding in each of the said radial holes of the rotor and a key equipped with coded notches co-operating each with the inner extremity of one of the said stator pistons in such manner that the outer extremity of each of the rotor pistons is flush with the peripheral surface of the rotor.The rotor pistons comprise a shoulder with which there can co-operate the notches of a master key.

Abstract: The invention relates to a cylindrical lock of the type comprising a barrel journalling in the bore of a body.In the lock to which the invention relates, the peripheral surface of the barrel and the surface of the bore in the body comprise an assembly consisting of an elastic longitudinal tongue and a shoulder which are respectively integral with the said two surfaces and which are arranged in such a manner that the said elastic tongue interacts with the said shoulder to lock the barrel so that it cannot move longitudinally in relation to the body.Application to the car industry.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an electrically actuated lock of the type comprising a rotor pivoting in a body and capable of being locked in relation to the said body by locking members constituted by pairs of opposed pistons or by keepers. The locking members are displaced by notches of a key, coded to permit the rotation of the rotor by action upon the key head. In this invention the unlocking of the rotor is effected by electric means without any opening of the rotor to the external environment, thus ensuring perfect sealing and inviolability. The lock comprises a key shank provided with coded notches, the shank being connected in translation with the movable armature of an electro-magnet, the rotor being provided with a graspable head by means of which the user can rotate the rotor when unlocked by the key.
Abstract: The invention relates to security devices with which automobile vehicles are equipped, and more especially to a controlling connection between the anti-theft device locking an element essential to the driving of the vehicle (such as the steering column) and the safety belt the wearing of which is obligatory for the driver in most cases.In order to ensure his safety and respect regulations it is desirable that the driver should not be able to start his vehicle until he has fastened his belt.An anti-theft device according to the present invention comprising a cylinder lock operated by a key, a bolt controlled by said cylinder lock for locking an element essential to the driving of the vehicle, and a device for locking the lock cylinder in rotation, the device being arranged to be unlocked by the fastening of the buckle of the vehicle safety belt.

Abstract: The invention relates to anti-theft devices for automobile vehicles in which such devices are fixed on the steering column of the vehicle and the aim of the invention is to provide anti-theft steering device which can be adapted to steering column of differing diameters while retaining the necessary security of the fixing. The device comprises a casing containing a locking bolt operated by a security lock and a base to which the casing is secured by means of screws with breakaway heads. The base has a half bore corresponding to the steering column to be equipped with the device and is secured by a flexible member whose first end is selectively fixed by a pin at one of several discrete locations and whose other end is secured to the base in an adjustable manner.
Abstract: The invention relates to an anti-theft device especially but not solely for automobile vehicles which causes blocking of the gear-change lever.The gear-change lever is articulated about an axis substantially parallel with the floor of the vehicle and close to this floor. Abstract: The invention relates to a device for blocking the key passage of a lock. The device can be utilized as a supplemental security, permitting the use of the lock only after a specific condition has been satisfied to produce the retraction or moving aside of the blocking element. The device comprises a movable abutment which can occupy a first position in which it blocks the key passage and a second position in which it clears the passage, the movement from the first position to the second position being controlled by a thermo-deformable element.
Abstract: A device is provided for controlling the electro-mechanical locking and unlocking member of a vehicle door lock and comprises a transmitter independent of the said vehicle and a receiver mounted inside the vehicle. The transmitter comprises a direct current electric supply source, a coded pulse signal generator drivable by said supply source, and an infra-red radiation emitter connected to said coded signal generator whereby said radiation emitter outputs infra-red pulses in coded form. The receiver comprises detector means for the reception of the infra-red pulses, a memory programed to emit coded pulses identical to said coded pulses from the emitter. A comparator coupled to the outputs of said detector means and said memory, and arranged to emit a signal in the case of agreement between the transmitter and receiver pulses, and an amplifier connected to the output of said comparator.
Abstract: In numerous treatment processes it is necessary to ensure a secure and effective clamping of a movable part against a fixed part.A clamping device for an electrolytic plating bath comprises a circular plate having a plurality of apertures for receiving articles to be plated. The articles are held in position by a clamping device comprising a thermostatic element having a movable clamp subject to a translational movement under the effect of an increase in temperature, the said movable assembly cooperating with the piece to be clamped.By means of the device according to the invention an effective and positive clamping is obtained in a range of desired temperatures which is precisely defined by virtue of the choice of an appropriate thermostatic element.
Abstract: The automobile security lock is of the kind having a body in which is rotatable a cylinder having pistons radially movable therein by a cylindrical key having notches formed therein. The body also has pistons which cooperate with the pistons in the cylinder. The pistons of the cylinder are slidable into radial cylindrical bores formed in the cylinder. Likewise the pistons in the body slide into radial slots in the body. On entry of the correct key the external extremities of the cylinder pistons lie flush with the external surface of the cylinder in such a manner as to permit rotation of the cylinder in relation to the body. However, on entry of an incorrect key where the corresponding notch is either insufficiently deep or too deep the extremities of the cylinder pistons enter said radial slots in said body or the internal extremities of the body pistons said radial bores in the cylinder to effect locking of the cylinder in relation to the body.

Abstract: A piston-type safety lock device, of the type comprising a cylindrical rotor journalled in a cavity of a stator. Said rotor contains a plurality of radially slidable pistons cooperating at their inner end with the notches of a key for bringing their other end flush with the periphery of said rotor. Said other end bears against the inner surface of the cavity in which the rotor is journalled and, for one angular position of the rotor, against pistons slidable in the stator and elastically biased toward the rotor. Said pistons of the stator and rotor are flat blanked members. Said pistons are disposed respectively in a single slot of the stator and in a single slot of the rotor and have rectilinear and parallel lateral edges which are in contact with the lateral edge of an adjacent piston or the end of said slot.
Abstract: The locking cap for fuel tanks is provided with electro-mechanical locking means whereby the cap can be unlocked by remote control. The cap comprises a body member having a lid pivotable thereon. A spring-urged pivotable locking device on said body engages a spindle attached to the underside of the lid to hold the latter in a locked position. A spring-urged locking slider engageable with a stop formed on said locking device is controlled by a pair of pivoted armatures which are articulated to said slider.On energization of a U-shaped electromagnet attracting the armatures the latter effect disengagement of the slider from the locking device which releases the spindle thus unlocking the lid.
