Publication number: 20200368441Abstract: A medication delivery device including a drive mechanism, a retraction mechanism and a sensing system. A medication container is movable relative to the medication delivery device between storage and delivery positions. The drive mechanism drives a plunger in a translational movement to move the medication container from the storage position to the delivery position and to dispense medication from the medication container in a dispensing event. The retraction mechanism includes a rotary member that rotates during a retraction movement of the retracting mechanism. The sensing system includes a first sensor to detect operational status and a second sensor to sense rotational movement of the rotary member. A controller is configured to detect initiation of a dispensing event based on signals generated by the first sensor and detect completion of the dispensing event and/or completion of the retraction movement based on signals generated by the second sensor.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 6, 2018Publication date: November 26, 2020Inventors: Christopher Paul LOUGHNANE, Gaurav ROHATGI, Stephen Louis SNYDER

Patent number: 10098590Abstract: The table for performing breast biopsies is characterized by features that enhance patient comfort and facilitate performance of the biopsy. An opening in the table allowing the breast to extend below the table top is formed in a removable insert. An area of the insert includes padding. An alternate insert, having a different diameter opening may be selected based on patient breast size. Another insert having an asymmetrical opening may accommodate the patient's arm when it is desirable to position both the arm and breast of the patient below the table top. The table top is contoured such that symmetrical distal end sections are elevated relative to a central section to support the patient in multiple positions. A removable pad may be placed over the insert. An end portion for padding the hip of the patient is thicker than an end portion for padding the head/neck of the patient.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 2017Date of Patent: October 16, 2018Assignee: HOLOGIC INC.Inventors: Kenneth F. Patent number: 7254723Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to methods and apparatus for managing current consumption of a peripheral device to meet power specification of the host system having a preset average current supply limit, a preset peak current supply limit, or both. In specific embodiments, the host system has a current supply limit available for supplying current to the peripheral device. The peripheral device operates in a low current consumption mode and a peak current consumption mode which is intermittent over time. The peripheral device draws a low current in the low current consumption mode which is lower than the current supply limit and drawing a peak current in the peak current consumption mode which is higher than the current supply limit. The apparatus comprises a reservoir configured to store excess energy from the host system during the low current consumption mode where the low current drawn by the peripheral device is lower than the current supply limit available from the host system.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2003Date of Patent: August 7, 2007Assignee: Logitech Europe S.A.Inventors: Hugues Favey, Paul Loughnane

Patent number: 6741233Abstract: A roller is provided in an input device such as a joystick to perform functions that compliment its operation. Upon detecting rotational movement of the roller in a first direction by a preset angle, a first signal is generated for activating a first logical button. Upon detecting rotational movement of the roller in a second direction by a preset angle, a second signal is generated for activating a second logical button. Roller rotation by multiples of the preset angle represents a series of button presses. The button press may be assigned a function such as selecting an item from a menu or adjusting attributes of objects or data displayed on a computer screen, such as the selection or firing of weapons or adjustment of shield balance in a video game application.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2000Date of Patent: May 25, 2004Assignee: Logitech Europe S.A.Inventors: Fred Swan, Aidan Kehoe, Thomas Burgel, Roland Bosa, Paul Loughnane, Urs Boesiger
