  • Patent number: 4432824
Abstract: The invention is a method and device for providing a protective coating for the inside of pipes, said method utilizing a device which is remotely actuated from outside said pipes. Specifically, the device comprises a memory metal delivery means, a corrosion resistant liner means, and a bonding means, said device expanding upon application of heat toward the inner wall of the pipe to cause the bonding means to flow progressively between the liner means and the inside of the pipe to thereby preclude air entrapment and to bond said liner means to the inside of the pipe.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 26, 1982
Date of Patent: February 21, 1984
    Assignee: Raychem Corporation
Inventors: Paul M. Cook, Richard F. Otte, James L. Claypool, Lawrence J. White, Harry C. Broyles, Peter L. Brooks
  • Patent number: 4392759
Abstract: A feature of this invention is the provision of a quick disconnect and connect mechanism for the transmission of torsional power between two concentric shafts including a collar, spring means which biases said collar to a first disposition whereat it holds at least one element in a position interlocking said two shafts, and cam means for converting torsional movement of said collar to axial movement of said collar against the bias of said spring means to translate said collar to a second disposition whereat said element is free to unlock said two shafts.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 9, 1981
Date of Patent: July 12, 1983
    Assignee: General Electric Company
    Inventor: Paul M. Cook
  • Patent number: 4386629
Abstract: A device for providing a protective coating for the inside of pipes, said device being remotely actuated from outside said pipes. Specifically, the device comprises a high modulus engineering plastic delivery means, a corrosion resistant liner means, and a bonding means, said device expanding upon application of heat toward the inner wall of the pipe to cause the bonding means to flow progressively between the liner means and the inside of the pipe to thereby preclude air entrapment and to bond said liner means to the inside of the pipe.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 7, 1981

  • Patent number: 4355664
Abstract: A method and device for providing a protective coating for the inside of pipes, said method utilizing a device which is remotely actuated from outside said pipes. Specifically, the device comprises a memory metal delivery member, a corrosion resistant liner member, and a bonding member, said device expanding upon application of heat toward the inner wall of the pipe to cause the bonding member to flow progressively between the liner member and the inside of the pipe to thereby preclude air entrapment and to bond said liner member to the inside of the pipe.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 31, 1980

  • Patent number: RE28688
Abstract: .Iadd.Heat recoverable articles of manufacture made from organic polymeric compositions are described. The compositions comprise a mixture of a thermoplastic resin material, or other organic, normally solid heat-flowable material, in an elastomeric material. A heat recoverable article obtained from these compositions is elastomeric in both its heat-unstable and heat-stable states. .Iaddend.
