Abstract: A hinge assembly for a container, for example, for an outdoor storage container, is disclosed. The hinge assembly may mount a lid to an end panel of the container and include at least one hinge block having a first section mountable to the end panel and a second section having a through hole, and a circular rod adapted to engage the through hole and engage a through hole in the lid. The hinge assembly is adapted to allow rotation of the lid about the axis of the circular rod. The hinge assembly may be adapted to allow at least 180 degrees of rotation of the lid without obstruction. The hinge assembly may include means for supporting the lid in an open position, for example, a rod or chain. • Patent number: 4724972
Abstract: A plastic container is produced as an integral unit comprising a container body, and a cap portion connected thereto. The cap portion has an opening in the top through which the container is filled. A separately produced lid means is adapted to cover and seal the opening in the cap. The cap is initially torn from its position integral with the container body, then placed upon the container as a closure member. A tell-tale flag may be affixed to the cap and body to indicate tampering. When the cap is initially torn from the container body the tell-tale flag is detached. A sealing disc may be provided on an upper portion of the cap. The container body is also provided with vertical and horizontal grooves to accommodate a key portion affixed to the cap to provide a child-resistant feature.

  • Patent number: 4376090
Abstract: A single injection blow molding apparatus for making a selected oriented finished product. The apparatus includes the support structure and an injection molding station where a parison is injection molded into a selected configuration. A core rod assembly cooperates in forming the parison which is formed about a first core rod. The parison is conditioned to an orientation temperature. A transfer system is on the support structure for removing the first core rod from the parison and transferring the parison to a blow molding station. The blow molding station is on the support structure and is provided for blow molding the parison while at orientation temperature into the configuration of the finished product. A second core rod assembly with a second core rod cooperates in blowing the parison into the configuration of the finished product.

  • Patent number: 4065246
Abstract: In an injection blow molding process for making plastic receptacles, an injection station is provided for injection molding a parison of selected configuration. An expansion and blowing station follows for initially expanding the parison to a predetermined length, and thereafter the parison is blow molded into a predetermined lateral and final configuration to thereby biaxially orient the molecular structure of the parison. An ejection station is provided for removing the finished product from the apparatus. The parison is transferred along a first path away from the injection station, along a second path which is normal to the first path and then along a third path parallel to the first path to the expansion and blowing station. At the same time, a finished product is transferred from the blowing station to the ejection station along a corresponding path.
