  • Publication number: 20210211966
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for performing device-to-device (D2D) discovery are described. A service discovery process may include a discoverable device (e.g., a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU)) sending a discovery request, over a wireless connection, for a radio resource for the purpose of performing a transmission for radio frequency (RF) proximity detection for a given service. The WTRU may receive a discovery response including a configuration for RF proximity detection from a network, which configuration may be associated to the service. The configuration for RF proximity may be received by dedicated signaling, (e.g., physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH)), in particular for a discoverable WTRU. The configuration for RF proximity may be received on a broadcast channel, (e.g.

  • Patent number: 11051280
Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may transmit via a primary uplink carrier data, pilot and control channels for uplink transmissions on both uplink carriers, and transmit a data channel and a pilot channel via a secondary uplink carrier. Alternatively, the WTRU may transmit via a primary uplink carrier data, pilot, and control channels for uplink transmission on the primary uplink carrier, and transmit via a secondary uplink carrier data, pilot, and control channels for uplink transmissions on the secondary uplink carrier. Each uplink carrier may be associated with at least one specific downlink carrier such that the WTRU applies control information received on a downlink carrier to uplink transmissions on an uplink carrier associated with the downlink carrier on which the WTRU receives the control information.

  • Patent number: 11044675
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and systems directed to adaptive uplink power control in a wireless network are provided. Among the apparatuses is a wireless transmit/receive unit that may include any of a receiver, a transmitter, and a processor coupled to the receiver and the transmitter. The processor may identify, from a plurality of transmissions, a first group of transmissions for transmission during a first transmission opportunity of a first uplink. The processor may determine a first power level for the first group of transmissions based, at least in part, on a characteristic of the first transmission opportunity and a characteristic of a second transmission opportunity of a second uplink, wherein the second transmission opportunity may be usable for transmission of a second group of the plurality of transmissions. The first and second characteristics may define respective time resources, where at least some of the first and second time resources overlap.

  • Publication number: 20210176710
Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive/transmit data by employing a discontinuous reception cycle, which may include an awake state and a sleep state. For example, while in an awake state, a WTRU may monitor a PDCCH for a subset of time instances. During the remaining time instances, the WTRU may enter a sleep state, in which the WTRU may switch its receiving circuitry off (e.g., to reduce power consumption). A WTRU may receive (e.g., may expect to receive) one or more transmissions, during an awake state, before entering a sleep state. The durations of an awake state and/or the durations of subsequent sleep states may be determined based on whether the WTRU receives a transmission during the awake state and/or what the transmission was for. The WTRU may modify the value of a sleep state timer based on previous sleep state and/or awake state timer values.

  • Patent number: 11032053
Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive a plurality of transport blocks over a plurality of configured carriers. The WTRU may generate hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ)-acknowledgment (ACK) feedback for the plurality of transport blocks, channel state information (CSI) feedback for at least one of the plurality of configured carriers, and a cyclic redundancy check (CRC). Further, the WTRU may generate a feedback message that includes a number of HARQ-ACK feedback bits for the HARQ-ACK feedback, a number of CSI feedback bits for the CSI feedback, and a number of CRC bits for the CRC. The WTRU may then determine a power to be used for a Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) transmission based on the number of HARQ-ACK feedback bits, the number of CSI feedback bits, and the number of CRC bits. Moreover, the WTRU may transmit the feedback message in the PUCCH transmission at the determined power.

  • Publication number: 20210144580
Abstract: A method performed by a WTRU may comprise associating a logical channel with a plurality of token buckets, including at least a long term token bucket and a short term token bucket. The method may further comprise transmitting logical channel data on the associated logical channel, in a TTI. The transmitted logical channel data of the TTI may be no larger than a value corresponding to a minimum of the long term token bucket and the short term token bucket. • Patent number: 10993265
Abstract: Method and apparatus are disclosed for optimizing Random Access Channel (RACH) transmissions from wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs) for multiple transmissions. The transmission time may be calculated on an absolute or relative basis. A backoff time may be applied before starting the uplink transmission. The backoff time may be WTRU-specific, WTRU group-specific, specified per access class and may be determined based on a priority basis. A scaling factor may be applied to the backoff time. A contention free allocation method may be used to determine the appropriate resource. The data may be transmitted with and without a preamble. The WTRUs may include machine type communication devices and may be grouped in accordance with a number of factors or characteristics.
