Patent number: 12166748Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include systems and methods for providing a decentralized federation for attribute-based access control. A request for a list of unique identifiers (IDs) associated with members belonging to the federation is sent to a federation authority. For a unique ID in the list of unique IDs associated with a second member belonging to the federation, a set of communication information for communicating with the second member is determined. Based on the set of communication information associated with the second member, the second member is sent a request for a list of available services. The second member is provided a set of verifiable credentials associated with the first member. The second member determines the list of available services based on the set of verifiable credentials and a set of policies and rules. The list of available services is received from the second member.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2022Date of Patent: December 10, 2024Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Peter Koen, Babak Ghane Jahromi, Pamela Dingle, Stefanus Martinus Van Der Wiele, James Marino, Paul Latzelsperger

Publication number: 20030068137Abstract: A ferrule for holding an array of optical fiber sections comprises a longitudinal cavity and an edge face. The longitudinal cavity receives the array of fiber sections with the end faces thereof arranged in a line and coplanar to each other. The edge face includes a first face portion perpendicular to the longitudinal axes of the fiber sections, and a second bevelled face portion adjacent to the first face portion. The end faces of the fiber sections emerge from the first face portion. The ferrule is used in a connector structure including a bar with a top surface on which optoelectronic devices are arranged in a line and bonding contacts are disposed. An alignment assembly between the ferrule and the bar aligns the end faces of the fiber sections with respective optoelectronic devices. The bevelled face portion provides for clearance to enable unobstructed passage of wire-bonds connected to the bonding contacts.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 24, 2002Publication date: April 10, 2003Inventors: David Rolston, Tomasz Maj, Simon Cowley, Paul Marino

Patent number: 6057839Abstract: A visualization tool for creating graphic displays of trace data produced by a parallel computer program execution monitoring system. The visualization tool contains a display monitor, possible input devices, a mass storage device, and a computer system. Trace data is converted into data structures and later pixel maps to ultimately generate processing activity diagrams for each processor in the computer system. If more than one processor is present, more than one processing activity diagram can be generated and simultaneously displayed on the same screen in form of strip graphs and for certain indicated time intervals. An average processor utilization diagram is then calculated and plotted on every processor activity diagram for comparison purposes. Browsing through these strip graphs all at the same time while comparing them against the average utilization graph will allow a user to easily redistribute workload if necessary and/or locate problem situations.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 1996Date of Patent: May 2, 2000Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Deepak Mohan Advani, Michael Justin Byron, Steven Robert Hansell, Todd Ming Chun Li, John Paul Marino, Rajendra Datta Panda, James Andrew Pierce, Ko-Yang Wang, Dennis George Weinel, Robert Spencer Welch

Patent number: 5598362Abstract: A data ALU (arithmetic logic unit) (54) in a data processing system (20) performs both 24-bit arithmetic, and 16-bit exact arithmetic (including shifting and logical operations) using the same hardware. For a multiply/accumulate operation in 16-bit exact mode, shifting operations are used to align the operands so that 16-bit exact mode is transparent to a user. An entire instruction set can be executed in 24-bit mode or 16-bit exact mode. The same instructions and hardware are used in both modes. A transition between modes is performed by changing a status bit (97) in a status register (95).Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1994Date of Patent: January 28, 1997Assignee: Motorola Inc.Inventors: Judah L. Adelman, Paul Marino, Avner Goren, Garth Hillman

Patent number: 5586293Abstract: An integrated circuit chip includes a processor (4) and a memory (10) coupled by data and address buses (PAB, PDB). The memory is switchable between a first, standard, mode of operation in which a memory controller (14) is operative and a second, cache, mode of operation in which a cache controller (12) is operative by a switch (16, 22, 40). A memory area includes a valid bits array (VBA), a bit of which is set when a valid word is stored in a respective memory address of the memory in standard mode. If a valid bit exists corresponding to an address on the address bus, then information loaded into the memory in standard mode can be used by the processor in cache mode. The operating mode of the memory is switched using an operating mode register having a cache enable section, and a cache enable control line coupled to the memory. A reset arrangement is provided for resetting the valid bits array to flush the cache in a single operation.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 1995Date of Patent: December 17, 1996Assignee: Motorola, Inc.Inventors: Nathan Baron, Paul Marino, Avner Goren, Eyal Melanmed-Cohen
