Patent number: 11978296Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to cash handling devices that provide intelligent monitoring and management of cash cycles. A cash handling device having at least one processor, a communication interface, and memory may receive, from a mobile device, a request to process a pre-staged transaction. Subsequently, the cash handling device may generate and present a graphical identifier based on the mobile device requesting access to the cash handling device. Next, the cash handling device may verify that the mobile device is authorized to perform the pre-staged transaction based on the graphical identifier being scanned by the mobile device and cause a connection to be established between the cash handling device and the mobile device. Thereafter, the cash handling device may identify and process the pre-staged transaction associated with the mobile device. Then, the cash handling device may generate a notification indicating completed processing of the identified pre-staged transaction.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 2021Date of Patent: May 7, 2024Assignee: Bank of America CorporationInventors: Paul Martin Mattison, Sr., Matthew E. Publication number: 20230308427Abstract: A network of nodes for a distributed register, in which the nodes include interaction terminals (e.g., ATMs, recyclers, point-of-sale devices, or the like). The interaction terminals allow a user to enter into an interaction that includes transferring resources through the use of the distributed register. The interaction terminals may be utilized in order to authenticate the user using traditional authentication processes or through the use of the distributed register. The interaction terminals may determine if the interaction is for a traditional interaction or if the interaction is being used for an interaction on the distributed ledger. Since the interaction terminals are operated by the organizations, they can be registered as trusted authorities on the distributed register, and as such, the blocks created for interactions by the interactional terminals may be validated without the need for consensus algorithms, or with reduced consensus requirements.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2022Publication date: September 28, 2023Applicant: BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATIONInventors: Paul Martin Mattison, Martha Sain McClellan, Yash Sharma, David Smiddy

Publication number: 20230259394Abstract: Capabilities for resource event processing are increased at resource event processing apparatus through use of a peer-to-peer resource event processing network. The resource event processing apparatus receives an alias associated with a user of the peer-to-peer resource event processing network. In response, the resource event processing apparatus communicates a peer-to-peer resource event request to the peer-to-peer resource event network. In response to the peer-to-peer resource event network receiving and processing the request, the user’s mobile communication device receives peer-to-peer resource event acceptance request and, in response to the user providing an input to accept the peer-to-peer resource event, the mobile communication device communicates a peer-to-peer resource event confirmation to the peer-to-peer resource event network.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 26, 2022Publication date: August 17, 2023Applicant: BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATIONInventors: Paul Martin Mattison, Charles Hector Gruesbeck, II, Martha Sain McClellan, David Smiddy, Ann Ta

Publication number: 20230237517Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to a system and method for generating and transmitting shareable electronic notification data via a hardware device network. A non-transitory wireless signal is broadcasted from a front-line unit in a network of front-line units, and a user determined to be in proximity to the front-line unit receives via the wireless signal reward data from a database. Electronic notification data is transmitted to the user device, whereafter the electronic notification data is displayed and an option to share the reward data to a secondary user is provided. Once shared, the secondary user's user device establishes a connection to the front-line unit to receive the reward data from the rewards database.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 26, 2022Publication date: July 27, 2023Applicant: BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATIONInventors: Paul Martin Mattison, Martha Sain McClellan, David Smiddy

Publication number: 20230214813Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products are provided for providing data processing channels for alternative resource usage. The method includes determining a vendor data channel from potential vendor data channel(s) for processing a resource transfer with a user. The method also includes determining a vendor data channel resource value for the potential vendor data channel(s). The vendor data channel resource value is higher for a potential vendor data channel corresponding to a secondary vendor than one corresponding to the primary vendor. The method further includes adjusting a resource transfer value corresponding to the resource transfer based on the vendor data channel resource value. The method still further includes causing an execution of the resource transfer with the determined vendor data channel based on the adjusted resource transfer value in response to determining the vendor resource value is adequate to cover the adjusted resource transfer value.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 4, 2022Publication date: July 6, 2023Applicant: BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATIONInventors: Paul Martin Mattison, Ann Ta, Martha Sain McClellan
