  • Patent number: 11636481
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to cash handling devices that provide intelligent monitoring and management of cash cycles. A cash handling device having at least one processor, a communication interface, and memory may receive, from a mobile device, a request to process a pre-staged transaction. Subsequently, the cash handling device may generate and present a graphical identifier based on the mobile device requesting access to the cash handling device. Next, the cash handling device may verify that the mobile device is authorized to perform the pre-staged transaction based on the graphical identifier being scanned by the mobile device and cause a connection to be established between the cash handling device and the mobile device. Thereafter, the cash handling device may identify and process the pre-staged transaction associated with the mobile device. Then, the cash handling device may generate a notification indicating completed processing of the identified pre-staged transaction.

  • Publication number: 20220366385
Abstract: After loss of communications between a cash handling device and a financial institution, transactions may continue to be processed. In one configuration, the transactions may be processed up to a predefined transaction limit. Transaction limits may be defined by a number of transactions, a dollar amount transacted or to be transacted, an amount of time and/or combinations thereof. Additionally or alternatively, the transaction limit may be specific to one or more types of transactions. Transaction data may be stored in memory until communication has been re-established, at which time the data may be transmitted to the financial institution for processing.

  • Patent number: 10223680
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for determining whether a check may be cashed at an automated teller machine (ATM) are provided. The ATM may capture check image data from the face of the check and the ATM may transmit the data to a check cashing computing platform. The check cashing computing platform may determine whether the account on which the check is drawn is an account of a first financial institution associated with the ATM, or the account is an account of a second financial institution. A first or second set of rules may be applied to the check based on this determination, to determine an overall check cashing risk score. A determination is then made, based on the overall check cashing risk score, as to whether the check may be cashed or the request to cash the check may be denied.

  • Patent number: 10134019
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for determining whether a check may be cashed at an automated teller machine (ATM) are provided. A user may request to cash a check at an ATM and check image data may be transmitted to a return deposit item computing platform. The computing platform may identify an account number of the account on which the check is drawn. Transaction data associated with the account may be retrieved by the computing platform and a number of occurrences of returned deposit items may be identified. The number of occurrences may be used to determine whether the check should be cashed.
