  • Publication number: 20200095899
Abstract: Brayton cycle apparatus for extracting energy from waste heat released by industrial devices are disclosed. An exemplary apparatus comprises a common structure to which the main components of a Brayton cycle are mounted in an in-use configuration to define a transportable unit for integration with an industrial device. Associated systems and methods are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20140199160
Abstract: An air turbine has two sets of blades concentrically mounted on a rotatable shaft. The two sets of blades are housed separately and an air supply for the turbine enters an air inlet of a first housing to drive a first set of blades and exits from the first housing to a second housing through an air transfer opening to drive the second set of blades in the same direction, the air exiting the second housing through an air outlet. Returning blades of each cycle of each set of blades is subjected to little or no resistance. A flywheel is concentrically mounted on the shaft and is connected to drive generators. The air supply is a controlled air supply and, preferably, the air supply is compressed air. The shaft of the turbine is oriented to the either horizontal or vertical.

  • Publication number: 20070166147
Abstract: A wind turbine has a hub mounted on a rotatable shaft with a ring concentrically mounted on the shaft. The ring is connected to drive wheels, which in turn drive generators to produce electricity. A controller is connected to control the speed of the turbine by controlling the number and force of contact between the wheels and the ring and also controlling other components such as the pitch, yaw and brakes for the turbine while monitoring the wind conditions.

  • Publication number: 20060275121
Abstract: A wind turbine has multiple blades (10) that are mounted on a shaft (19) with a ring around a circumference of the blades. There are tires (18) that are arranged to be in contact or out of contact with the ring. The tires draw generators when the tires are in contact with the ring and the ring is rotating. A controller monitors the wind conditions and controls the turbine to produce electricity or other-energy output or to shut down if the wind falls below a predetermined level.
