Publication number: 20200237486Abstract: A method of using AR for dentistry and orthodontics is provided. An image of a dental arch is received, the image having been generated by an image capture device associated with an augmented reality (AR) display. A processing device registers the image to previous image data associated with the dental arch, compares one or more areas of the dental arch from the image to one or more corresponding areas of the dental arch from the previous image data, determines a position of an area of interest on the dental arch based on the comparing, generates a visual overlay comprising an indication of the area of interest, and outputs the visual overlay to the AR display, wherein the visual overlay is superimposed over a view of the dental arch on the AR display at the position of the area of interest.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 16, 2020Publication date: July 30, 2020Inventors: Avi Kopelman, Adi Levin, Eric Paul Meyer, Elad Zeiri, Amir Ashkenazi, Ron Ganot, Sergei Ozerov, Inna Karapetyan

Patent number: 10695150Abstract: A system comprises a scanner, an augmented reality (AR) display and a computing device. The scanner generates intraoral images of a dental arch and the AR display generates additional image data representative of a view from a wearer of the AR display. The computing device receives the intraoral images from the intraoral scanner, generates a virtual three-dimensional model of at least a portion of the dental arch from the intraoral images, receives the additional image data from the AR display, determines, from the additional image data, a region of the view that is outside of the dental arch, generates a visual overlay comprising the virtual three-dimensional model, and sends the visual overlay to the AR display. The AR display displays the visual overlay such that the virtual three-dimensional model is shown in the region of the view that is outside of the dental arch.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2017Date of Patent: June 30, 2020Assignee: Align Technology, Inc.Inventors: Avi Kopelman, Eric Paul Meyer, Elad Zeiri, Amir Ashkenazi, Ron Ganot, Partha Dey, Sergei Ozerov, Ran Mizrahi, Ilya Fomin, Sean M. Patent number: 10659432Abstract: A computing device can install and execute a kernel-level security agent that interacts with a remote security system as part of a detection loop aimed at defeating malware attacks. The kernel-level security agent can be installed with a firewall policy that can be remotely enabled by the remote security system in order to “contain” the computing device. Accordingly, when the computing device is being used, and a malware attack is detected on the computing device, the remote security system can send an instruction to contain the computing device, which causes the implementation, by an operating system (e.g., a Mac™ operating system) of the computing device, of the firewall policy accessible to the kernel-level security agent. Upon implementation and enforcement of the firewall policy, outgoing data packets from, and incoming data packets to, the computing device that would have been allowed prior to the implementation of the firewall policy are denied.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 2017Date of Patent: May 19, 2020Assignee: CrowdStrike, Inc.Inventors: Paul Meyer, Cameron Gutman, John R. Kooker

Patent number: 9951405Abstract: A system and method for heat-treating a titanium part. The system may include foil, adhesive tape, and a localized heat source. The foil may include two sheets of foil made of a material more reactive (more prone to oxidize) than the titanium part, and the localized heat source may include a heating element mostly surrounded by insulation. The method may include taping the foil to opposing sides of the titanium part, thus sealing a portion of the titanium part to be heat treated from external atmosphere. The method may also include heating and placing the localized heat source near or against the foil until heat treating is complete. A small amount of air remaining between the heated foil and the titanium part has a preferential reaction with the foil, since it is more reactive than the titanium part. This prevents oxidation of the titanium part during localized heat treating.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2015Date of Patent: April 24, 2018Assignee: Spirit AeroSystems, Inc.Inventors: Rahbar Nasserrafi, Steven Paul Meyer
