  • Patent number: 11951284
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for transitioning to sleep mode or otherwise modified glucose target range in automated insulin delivery systems. For example, sleep mode can include a lower glucose target and/or lower and narrower glucose target range because of fewer variables that affect glucose values during sleep such as eating and exercise. Due to increased stability provided by the sleep mode target range, it is desirable to transition to the sleep mode target range as quickly as possible, while ensuring the transition is done safely and does not risk low glucose or hypoglycemia by too quickly switching to the lower and narrower target range. Systems and methods disclosed herein therefore provide various approaches for safely and quickly transitioning to sleep mode or other modified target ranges in order to improve time in range by being more aggressive to get to the lower sleep mode or other target faster without risking hypoglycemia.

  • Publication number: 20110137022
Abstract: A method for the analysis of oligonucleotides is provided. The method comprises: desalting a mixture of oligonucleotides under conditions such that there is substantially no separation of the mixture of oligonucleotides, and/or by on-line desalting, introducing the desalted mixture of oligonucleotides into a mass spectrometer; and quantifying one or more oligonucleotides comprised in the mixture by mass spectrometry.

  • Patent number: 6494120
Abstract: A apparatus for disassembling a threaded bolt and nut assembly wherein the bolt is initially extended through an opening provided on a structure and being secured thereto with the nut axially mounted on a threaded rod of the bolt. The apparatus comprises a tool body, a nut gripping element such as a socket mounted for rotation on a working portion of the tool body, the socket being provided with a bore axially extending theretrough. The apparatus further comprises a rotary actuator mounted on the tool body and operatively coupled to the socket for imparting torque to the mounted nut in a direction allowing release of the nut from the secured bolt.

  • Patent number: 5113969
Abstract: A displaceable working platform comprising a main frame having stabilizing extension posts secured thereto for immovably securing the main frame to surrounding surfaces. A displaceable platform is slidingly secured to the main frame. The platform is displaceable on the main frame from a storage position to a working position. An extensible boom is secured on a rotating support base which is secured to the displaceable platform. The boom has a working free end at which a working element is secured. The rotating support base is rotatable by a motor and a boom is extensible by an hydraulic system which is also provided to regulate the angular position of the boom by controlling hydraulic pistons connected between the boom telescopic sections, and the rotating support base.

  • Patent number: 4838381
Abstract: A jib assembly displaceably attached to an articulated boom comprising an elongated jib member having an attachment sleeve element secured thereto. A planetary gear reducer having a driving element, is coupled to a gear train and securable inside the boom. The gear train has an output drive gear protruding adjacent a side wall of the boom. A drive gear coupling element is secured to the jib attachment sleeve and in toothed engagement with the output drive gear for rotatably connecting the sleeve element closely spaced to the boom side wall to reduce stress on the gear coupling caused by the load associated with the jib assembly. Also, stress is reduced on the bucket support shaft associated with said boom by providing a closer spacing of the bucket to the boom.

  • Patent number: 4437543
Abstract: A control system for a personnel carrier attached to a boom which is displaceable by pressure fluid. The control system comprises at least one hand operable controlled handle axially rotatable in a limited clockwise or counter-clockwise direction to cause the boom to be elevated or lowered, respectively. A control valve is associated with the control handle and has at least one adjustable pressure fluid control component therein to control the displacement of the boom. A movable linkage is secured at one end to the control handle and at an opposed end to the fluid control component whereby rotation of the control handle causes displacement of the control component to regulate the pressure fluid which in turn controls the displacement of the boom.
