  • Publication number: 20160292997
Abstract: A system for warning an individual of a potential traffic hazard includes a radio signal transmitter configured to transmit a warning signal, and radio signal receiver configured to receive the warning signal. The system also includes at least one of the following elements responsive to reception of the warning signal by the radio signal receiver: (a) sound transducer to deliver audio to the individual and sound altering device, which alters the audio delivered to the individual such that the individual is made aware of the traffic hazard; (b) a visual media display to deliver a visual medium to the individual, and a visual media altering device, which alters the visual medium such that the individual is made aware of the traffic hazard; or (c) a tactile stimulus device to deliver a tactile stimulus such that the individual is made aware of the traffic hazard to the individual.

  • Publication number: 20150283784
Abstract: According to the invention there is provided a composite article including: a textile layer having a first and a second face, each of the first and second faces having a polymeric coating thereon; a first polymeric layer adhered to the polymeric coating on the first face of the textile layer; and a second polymeric layer adhered to the polymeric coating on the second face of the textile layer; in which the polymeric coatings on the first and second faces of the textile layer are each formed by polymerising a polymeric precursor which includes a group of sub-formula (I) where R2 and R3 are independently selected from (CR7R8)n, or a group CR9R10, CR7R8CR9R10 or CR9R10CR7R8 where n is 0, 1 or 2, R7 and R8 are independently selected from hydrogen, halo or hydrocarbyl, and either One of R9 or R10 is hydrogen and the other is an electron withdrawing group, or R9 and R10 together form an electron withdrawing group, and R4 and R5 are independently selected from CH or CR11 where R11 is an electron withdrawing group, t

  • Publication number: 20070144743
Abstract: A subsea production tree has an external annular profile formed on an upper portion of the tree. A vertical passage extending from a lower end of the tree to an upper end of the tree for communicating with a string of tubing extending into the well. A lateral passage in the tree extending from the vertical passage. A flow path in fluid communication with the lateral passage extends laterally from the tree, the flow path having an upward facing receptacle. An adapter lands on the upper portion of the tree and connects to the profile, the adapter having a passage that registers with the vertical passage of the tree while the adapter lands on the tree. A flow interface device mounts to and lands with the adapter, the flow interface device having an inlet conduit and an outlet conduit, one of the conduits being connected to the passage in the adapter, the other of the conduits stabbing into sealing engagement with the receptacle as the adapter lands on the tree.

  • Publication number: 20060042799
Abstract: An apparatus for performing operations on an offshore well includes a subsea wellhead assembly. A riser extends from the subsea wellhead assembly to a surface vessel. A tool connects to a running string and is lowered through the riser into the wellhead assembly for performing operations at the wellhead assembly. A subsea controller is located adjacent the subsea wellhead assembly. The subsea controller controls the operation of the tool. A surface controller is positioned on the surface vessel, and is in communication with the subsea controller via a control line extending downward from the surface controller to the subsea controller. The control line extends downward from the surface controller along an exterior of the riser.

  • Publication number: 20060042791
Abstract: A method performing an operation in a subsea wellhead assembly through a riser extending between the wellhead assembly and a surface platform includes the step of connecting a surface blowout preventer to an upper portion of the riser. Then a tool is connected to a string of conduit. A control line is then connected to the tool, extended alongside the conduit. The tool and control line are lowered through the blowout preventer and riser. The method also includes the step of mounting a slick joint to an upper end of the conduit when the tool is near the wellhead assembly. The control line is then linked through the slick joint and extends to the surface platform. The method also includes the step of communicating with the tool via the control line and performing an operation in the wellhead assembly with the tool.

  • Patent number: 4750400
Abstract: A stringed musical instrument of the solid body or equivalent type is provided with elongated resonant beams which support the bridge for the instrument strings. The resonance of the beams is lowered by the use of concentrated mass portions in or on the beams so that the resonance of the beams will be lowered and with electrical vibration-pickup means a sound more closely resembling that of a hollow bodied instrument will be achieved. The pickups may be crystal, magneto dynamic or other suitable type which are used to produce an electrical signal representative of string induced beam vibration.

  • Patent number: 4341144
Abstract: There is provided a bridge structure for a stringed instrument. A member supports a ridge over which the strings of the stringed instrument are strung. For each string, one end is secured at a location on the instrument which is remote from the member, the member supporting, for each string, a guide pulley around which the other end of the string passes. Means are provided for snagging the other end of the string, which means includes sub-means on the member whereby rotational torque is applied to the member. Suspension means are provided to support the member from the instrument body in such a way as to counteract that rotational torque.
