Patent number: 9449401Abstract: A system, method, and article of manufacture for decompressing a bit stream of compressed data representing a plurality of image blocks. A plurality of bits of compressed input data relating to AC codes are retrieved from the bit stream and a first decoding operation executed to generate first output data. If sufficient space for the first output data exists, the first output data is outputted. Otherwise, a second decoding operation generates second output data. The first decoding operation includes performing a look-up in a look-up table based on the input data. A pointer is retrieved from a data segment that corresponds to the input data and a routine corresponding to the retrieved pointer is executed. The payload of the data segment is processed in the executed routine to generate the first output data.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2012Date of Patent: September 20, 2016Assignee: VSTREAM TECHNOLOGIES LLCInventors: Michael L. Gough, Paul Miner

Patent number: 8300988Abstract: An example embodiment includes a processor module, a pipe analyzer and a central processing unit. The processor module extracts a plurality of components from an input bit stream by extracting predetermined n-bits at a time from the input bit stream and analyzing the n-bits for components. The central processing unit has at least two pipelines for receiving the components derived from the input bit stream. The pipe analyzer is coupled between the processor module and the central processing unit for analyzing the components of the input bit stream and directing each of the components into a suitable pipeline of the central processing unit based on the analysis the pipe analyzer.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 2008Date of Patent: October 30, 2012Assignee: G&H Nevada-TekInventors: Michael L. Patent number: 7627183Abstract: In example embodiments, a method, system and article for decompressing compressed video data in a processor having at least two pipelines, including obtaining a plurality of raw data bits from a compressed video data stream; extracting one or more components from the plurality of raw data bits by analyzing the plurality of raw data bits in a look-up table; and directing the components of the compressed video data into one of the pipelines for processing purposes based on the analysis. In another example embodiment an apparatus includes a microprocessor; memory; a communication adapter, capable of transmitting and receiving data over a communication network; a microphone, speaker, and a display device; and logic encoded in a tangible medium which when executed is operable to decompress compressed video data received from the communication network utilizing a look-up table.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 2007Date of Patent: December 1, 2009Inventors: Michael L. Publication number: 20090123080Abstract: The present invention includes a system, method, and article of manufacture for decompressing a bit stream of compressed data representing a plurality of image blocks. This includes a two-step method of processing both a DC code and a plurality of AC codes. With respect to the processing of the AC codes, a plurality of bits of compressed input data relating to the AC codes are first retrieved from the bit stream. A first decoding operation is then executed based on the obtained compressed input data in order to generate first output data. It is then determined whether sufficient space is available for the first output data. If it is determined that there is sufficient space for the first output data, the first output data is outputted. On the other hand, if it is determined that there is insufficient space for the first output data, an alternate second decoding operation is executed in order to generate second output data.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 17, 2008Publication date: May 14, 2009Inventors: Michael L. Gough, Paul Miner

Patent number: 7489824Abstract: Methods and apparatus for decompressing a bit stream of compressed data representing a plurality of image blocks. This includes multi-step processing of data codes, e.g. DC and AC codes. For example, with respect to the processing of AC codes, a plurality of bits of compressed input data relating to the AC codes are first retrieved from the bit stream. A first decoding operation is then executed based on the obtained compressed input data in order to generate first output data. It is then determined the first coding operation was sufficiently correct. If it is determined that the first coding operation was sufficiently correct, the first output data is outputted. On the other hand, if it is determined that the first coding operation was not sufficiently correct, an alternate second decoding operation in executed in order to generate second output data.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2007Date of Patent: February 10, 2009Assignee: G&H Nevada TekInventors: Michael L. Publication number: 20070266539Abstract: A device for applying a flexible carrier to a plurality of containers includes a plurality of distal jaws and a plurality of proximate jaws, spaced apart from the distal jaws. A flexible carrier having a plurality of apertures is positioned between the distal jaws and the proximate jaws and an actuator, engaged with the plurality of distal jaws and/or the plurality of proximate jaws, is used to incrementally separate the distal jaws from the proximate jaws thereby stretching the flexible carrier to permit insertion of the plurality of containers within each of the plurality of apertures.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 5, 2007Publication date: November 22, 2007Inventors: Paul Miner, Barry Dauber
