  • Patent number: 10037196
Abstract: Implementations provide for a source to image framework for a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) system. A method of the disclosure includes invoking source-to-image (STI) orchestration logic to perform a build for an application of a multi-tenant PaaS system, launching a build container for the build in view of a base image of the application, the base image providing a core functionality for the application, accessing source code of the application at the build container, assembling an application image using the base image and the source code, and committing the application image to a repository.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: July 31, 2018
    Assignee: Red Hat, Inc.
Inventors: Daniel McPherson, Ben Parees, Paul Morie, Clayton Coleman, Andrew Goldstein, Krishna Raman
  • Patent number: 10033800
Abstract: Implementations for downloadable cartridges for a multi-tenant Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) system are disclosed. A method of the disclosure includes parsing a cartridge manifest corresponding to a cartridge to determine a source location of files of the cartridge and causing the files of the cartridge to be obtained from the determined source location for use by at least one node of a multi-tenant PaaS system.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: July 24, 2018
    Assignee: Red Hat, Inc.
Inventors: Michael McGrath, Jhon Honce, Paul Morie, Daniel Mace
  • Patent number: 9954958
Abstract: Various examples are directed to systems and methods for executing a computing job at a computing node of a distributed computing system. A node controller may receive computing job request data from a system controller. The node controller may send job start data to a shared resource provider. The shared resource provider may mount a shared resource for the computing job indicated by the computing job request data. The node controller may send a heartbeat message to the system controller and receive from the system controller an acknowledgement message referencing the heartbeat message. The system controller may send to the shared resource provider, a job stop command. In response to the job stop command, the shared resource provider may dismount the shared resource.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: April 24, 2018
    Assignee: Red Hat, Inc.

  • Patent number: 9251030
Abstract: Implementations for downloadable cartridges for a multi-tenant Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) system are disclosed. A method of the disclosure includes receiving, by a processing device of a multi-tenant Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) system, a location of a cartridge manifest corresponding to a cartridge that is maintained outside of the multi-tenant PaaS system, downloading the cartridge manifest from the received location, parsing the downloaded cartridge manifest to determine a source location of files of the cartridge, the source location separate from the multi-tenant PaaS system, and causing the files of the cartridge to be obtained from the determined source location for use by at least one node of the multi-tenant PaaS system that is hosting an application requesting the cartridge.
