Abstract: A skin exfoliating and softening composition, comprising sodium polyacrylate powder at between 5% to 70% by weight dispersed in a solution of base oil. The composition comprises sodium polyacrylate powder mixed with any suitable base oil including food grade oils, synthetic oils, natural oils or mineral oils, with added fragrances, anti-settling agents, aromatherapy oils and/or dyes. A method of exfoliating and softening skin is also disclosed as the composition can be used on any part of the body by rubbing it over the skin to produce an exfoliating and softening effect. After rubbing the composition on the skin for a short period of time, the treated area is then placed under running water or sprayed using an appropriate atomiser which causes the sodium polyacrylate powder to gel up and help the base oil and moisture to be absorbed by the skin.

Abstract: A method and system for merging metadata with digital images is disclosed, where the digital images are stored as image files having metadata fields associated therewith. The method and system include receiving data uploaded from a remote location, providing a web application to a client device over a network when requested, and transmitting the previously uploaded data to the web application. When an image requires input of metadata on the client device, the uploaded data is displayed on the client device for selection by the user. In response to the user's selection, the selected data is then used to automatically populate the metadata fields associated with the image file.

Abstract: A method and system for allowing a user to define and use custom metadata is disclosed. The method and system include providing a network accessible server with a metadata library having plurality of metadata vocabularies. The server allows the user to create a custom metadata vocabulary by displaying a user interface on a client computer in which the user specifies a plurality of properties defining the custom metadata vocabulary. When the custom metadata vocabulary is defined, it is stored in the metadata library for subsequent access. The method and system further allow the user to search the metadata library to select at least one of the metadata vocabularies to apply to an electronic resource.

The data source can assign more or less power for transmitting data to the first device. The data source provides data to the source device using a first data channel. The data source provides data to a second device using a second data channel. The data source receives acknowledgements and control information from the first device and the second device using the second data channel.

The processing then continues by measuring received signal strength of a signal received by the receiver section to produce a 1st received signal strength indication (RSSI). The processing continues by adjusting the gain setting of the receiver section such that the 1st received signal strength indication is a predetermined offset less than a signal strength threshold. The process then continues by measuring the received signal strength of the gain adjusted representation of the signal to produce a 2nd received signal strength indication. The processing continues by appending a 2nd offset to the 2nd received signal strength value to produce an adjusted received signal strength indication value when the 2nd received signal strength value drifts from the signal strength threshold less the predetermined offset.

Abstract: A method of attaching a waistband to a garment is disclosed which comprises providing a strip (26) of waistband fabric having outer portions more extensible than the centre section, and presenting the fabric to a sewing machine through a folder (18) for attachment to a garment, characterised in that the folder is angled to the sewing zone (16) whereby to force the outer sections of the waistband strip to proceed faster than the central section resulting in a curve being formed during attachment to the garment. Since the strip does not have a shape until it is treated in accordance with the invention, it may be provided on a reel for continuous operation. Moreover, the angle at which the folder presents the waistband to the sewing zone can be altered whereby to give shapes that are not of constant curvature.

Abstract: A method or controlling the size of a fabric of a garment is disclosed which comprises overfeeding the fabric into a sewing machine while simultaneously providing a tape or cord to stabilise the sewn fabric, characterised in that the tape or cord is made from a material which can be eliminated or made extensible during subsequent processing. Preferably the tape or cord is made from a material which is water-soluble and will therefore dissolve during garment washing. However, especially where the garment will not be washed during subsequent processing, other materials can be employed such as heat-activated or steam-activated materials which become extensible on activation. The basis or the invention is that the tape or cord produced from the material will be sufficiently rigid so as to stabilise the drawn in garment fabric for application of the waistband, and yet will be removed or become extensible in subsequent processing before it reaches the wearer so that the fabric and waistband can expand during wear.

The method and system include associating users who will access the image with roles, and associating the roles with individual metadata elements. In response to receiving a request for access to the metadata by a particular user, the user's role is determined from the request and the user's role is compared to the roles associated with the metadata elements to determine which metadata elements to make available to the user.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for managing subscriptions in a software system. The method includes sending a request to a child notification publisher to send a notification message to at least one subscriber on the child, notification publisher's subscriber list; sending the notification message to the subscribers on the child notification publisher's subscriber list; and sending a request to a parent notification publisher to send the notification message to the at least one subscriber on the parent notification publisher's subscriber list. The method and system in accordance with the present invention utilizes a publisher tree for managing subscriptions. This tree allows event subscribers to request subscriptions at a granular level without requiring the event subscribers who do not need a granular subscription to have multiple subscriptions to receive whole categories of messages from event sources.

Abstract: A method and system for providing a network-based photosharing service is disclosed. The photosharing service includes a central photosharing site having a server, and a plurality of peer nodes each containing digital images. The method and system include associating metadata with each image that is to be shared. The images are shared by uploading the metadata associated with each image from the peer nodes to the peer server, while maintaining storage of the images on the respective peer nodes. In response to the peer server receiving search criteria based on the metadata submitted from a first one of the peer nodes, the peer server returns a list of image locators for images matching the search criteria to the first peer node. The method and system further include dynamically generating on the first peer node an image album that contains at least a portion of the matching images.

Abstract: A method and system for automatically configuring a hand-held electronic device for accessing a site on a public network is disclosed. The method and system include establishing a connection to a website server, which is responsible for establishing and maintaining website accounts, and sending information uniquely identifying the electronic device to the website server. The server then sends user account information to the device, including an account ID and password, created based on the electronic device information. The user account information is then stored on electronic device for use the next time the electronic device accesses the website, whereby the user does not have to enter account information in order to establish the ISP connection or the website account before accessing the public network.

Abstract: A method is provided for improving the bond strength and quality between a borate-treated wood material and a phenolic resin in a wood composite product, the method having the steps of bonding the wood material with an adhesive system comprising the resin and an additional base, the base providing a substantial increase in the alkalinity of the adhesive system over that provided by the resin, the increase sufficient to limit the bonding of borate molecules with the phenolic resin molecules to such an extent as to allow a substantially complete cross-linking of the phenolic resin molecules to occur. An adhesive system is also disclosed for use in the production of wood composite products.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for automatically establishing a user account and for configuring a hand-held electronic device for accessing a site on a public network using the user account. The method and system include establishing a connection to a website server, which is responsible for establishing and maintaining website accounts. The presence of account information on the electronic device camera is then checked, and if none are found, it is determined that this is a first-time connection and information uniquely identifying the electronic device is sent to the website server so that the server can set-up the account information based on the electronic device information. The server then sends user account information to the device, including an account ID and password.
