  • Publication number: 20110096371
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for duplex scanning includes: illuminating a first side of an object with light of a first color from a group of colors; sensing the first color light reflected from the first side; illuminating a second side of the object opposite the first side with light of a second color from the group of colors simultaneously with the act of illuminating the first side with the first color light; and sensing the second color light reflected from the second side. In another embodiment, a duplex scanning method includes simultaneously illuminating each side of a document sequentially with each of multiple colors of light but in different color sequences for each side of the document so that the same color light does not illuminate both sides of the document at the same time.

  • Publication number: 20060223560
Abstract: A wireless network is disclosed that provides repeat dialing to called parties that are powered off. The wireless network includes an originating MSC system, a Home Location Register (HLR) system for a called party, and a serving MSC system that serves the called party. Responsive to identifying that the called party is powered off, the calling party transmits a repeat dialing instruction to the originating MSC system. The originating MSC system then transmits a repeat dialing indicator to the HLR system for the called party. The HLR system for the called party identifies when the called party powers on. When the called party does power on, the HLR system transmits an instruction to the serving MSC system to attempt to set up a call between the called party and the calling party.

  • Publication number: 20060199572
Abstract: Wireless networks and methods are disclosed that provide for anonymous call blocking in wireless networks. A wireless network of the invention includes an MSC system and an HLR system. When a calling party initiates a call to a called party, the MSC system receives the call and generates a call setup message for the call. The call is anonymous, so the call setup message does not include caller ID information for the calling party. The MSC system receiving the call transmits the call setup message to the HLR system. The HLR system determines if the call setup message includes caller ID information, and determines if the called party subscribes to anonymous call blocking. Responsive to determining that there is no caller ID information in the call setup message and that the called party subscribes to anonymous call blocking, the HLR system instructs the MSC system to block the call.

  • Publication number: 20060199571
Abstract: A wireless network is disclosed that provides repeat dialing to busy called parties. The wireless network includes an originating MSC system that serves a calling party, and a terminating MSC system that serves a called party. The calling party initiates a call to the called party through the originating MSC system, and the terminating MSC system determines that the called party is busy on another call. The originating MSC system then receives a repeat dialing instruction from the calling party and transmits a repeat dialing indicator to the terminating MSC system. The terminating MSC system identifies when the called party becomes available in substantially real time. When available, the terminating MSC system attempts to set up a call between the called party and the calling party.

  • Publication number: 20050073569
Abstract: A printing system is described that may incorporate a plurality of output surfaces, wherein each of the plurality is attached to a mounting surface running substantially perpendicular to a height of the printing system and is offset horizontally from one another, and wherein each of the plurality is shaped to provide user access to printed output.

  • Publication number: 20050018257
Abstract: A system including a user computer is configured to generate an electronic document file, and an imaging apparatus is configured to form mirror images on a side of a transparency media in correspondence to the electronic document file. The system also includes an overhead projector configured to support the transparency media with the imaged side in contact with the overhead projector, and to project the mirror images in proper viewing orientation onto a surface. A method of imaging transparency sheet media includes detecting a transparency media designation associated with an electronic document file, and determining a mirror imaging status in response to detecting the transparency media designation. The method further includes deriving an electronic mirror image corresponding to the electronic document file in accordance with the status, and forming an image on a sheet of transparency sheet media in accordance with the electronic mirror image.

  • Patent number: 4782735
Abstract: A full length, inflatable body shield or bulletproof mattress which can be carried in portable fashion in a stored condition within a relatively small case having a source of pressurized gas. A valve is provided to open the gas source to inflate the mattress stored in a collapsed condition in the case. In one embodiment, the mattress is carried in a case which has the appearance of a conventional briefcase. The case can be opened by an electronic system or manual backup system operated by the switches near the handle of the case. In another embodiment, the mattress is carried in a case which appears to be a backpack. The backpack is opened by pulling the clip when it is desired to inflate and use the mattress.
