  • Patent number: 11963695
Abstract: A process and system provides for atraumatic preparation of morselized Tissue Particles (TP)s, such as Full Thickness Skin Graft Particles (FTSGPs), cartilage particles and other organ tissue particles, in a liquid medium. The resultant tissue product may be a suspension of Tissue Particles in an aqueous solution and containing highly viable cells and may be rapidly prepared at bedside or in the operating room and conveniently delivered to a patient through a syringe or similar applicator. The morselized Tissues Particles may be used for surgical applications including wound healing, cosmetic surgery, and orthopedic cartilage repairs.

  • Publication number: 20240000482
Abstract: Therapeutics and methods of treatment to repair, preserve and grow cartilage are presented. In addition, systems and methods for delivering a therapeutic to a hard to reach anatomical area, such as, for example, the BCI, are presented. A cannulated delivery device provided with a cutting tip, cutting flutes and threads on its distal end can be provided. Using such an exemplary device, various novel therapies for joint and cartilage repair, preservation and generation can be implemented. The device may have two-needles, with a first cannula/needle, with a finger grip at its distal end, and a longer inner needle to penetrate through the outer needle into the disc, and introduce therapeutics, for example, via a syringe. When provided with a septum at the inner needle's proximal end, the PIARES device is a completely closed system, and its use minimizes trauma.

  • Patent number: 10456289
Abstract: A fluid collection system is provided. The fluid collection system broadly includes a baseplate having an adhesive backing configured to couple the baseplate to a patient's skin and defining a wafer having an approximately centrally positioned opening that receives a first end of a surgical drain tube, and a wafer connector disposed around said opening. An appliance includes a leaked fluid remover that includes a fluid remover connector operable to detachably couple with the wafer connector. The leaked fluid remover includes an outer septum and an inner septum for receiving the surgical drain tube. The outer septum is capable of moving about radially, axially and/or pivotally to alleviate side load tension on the septum caused by displacement of the surgical drain tube.

  • Patent number: 9867933
Abstract: A sealed delivery system for dispensing metered volumes of a pure or sterile flowable substance is presented. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, a hand-held sealed delivery system comprises a continuously sealing one-way valve assembly at a distal end, and a volume reducing reservoir at a proximal end. The pure or sterile flowable substance can be stored in the volume reducing reservoir. In operation, a user pushes down upon a push button driven actuator assembly, acting upon a metering pumping chamber, which is in fluid communication with the pure or sterile flowable substance stored in the volume reducing reservoir via a check valve. Depression of the push button driven actuator causes a dispensing pump to push a metered volume of flowable substance through the continuously sealing one way dispensing valve assembly.
